Yes and happy about that, yet it is hard not to see the big problem we have up front particularly with Rooney. As the focus is now on him as the main man he isn't grabbing the opportunity but in fact displaying his frailties and that is a concern for the season.

I would also note that Hernandez has not had any time on the pitch after a season last year where he was not trusted. I think the vision of a season relying on Rooney and Hernandez is giving many of us concern despite two tight not high scoring wins.

2 wins from two games first time in 9 years lots to improve ion but I'll take that, much better than played two drawn two or lost one drawn one.

It is always difficult to judge performances in early season games. Our team is still trying to gel while opposition players are full of beans and keen to impress. Not many teams will chase the ball down with the same enthusiasm as villa did yesterday after ten or so games.personally I would be mostly happy with last night's performance. With the exception of Rooney , his performance was dreadful, it may be that the worst thing about moyes time at the club was not selling Rooney to Chelsea .I believe we have a side here that can win the league and in some style. As long as we resolve the elephant in the room that is the inept wayne Rooney

{Ed025's Note - he is quality for me stevox, poor last night granted, but with good players around him he will always contribute mate, a partner for him would help but LVG may see it differently..
