Hi all, thanks to the ends as always for the site.
Firstly, a new guy has started work with me this week who was a sports psyc at Southampton. This morning we were chatting about Shaw and he revealed how dedication and motivation to improve have always been a concern re: Shaw in comparison to his peers. Not willing to do the extra training etc. He made comparisons to James WP who he said is a model professional. Not massive gossip I know but interesting to hear that there have been genuine concerns surrounding him for a while.
Secondly, Ed can you provide an overview yet of who our summer transfer targets are please or is it too early? Greizman, Aguero, Bale all being mentioned as att options. Anything on the GK replacement if DDG goes?

{Ed002's Note - There will soon be a Sharkopod.}

Cheers KG, you often wonder how players like Shaw who have the world at their feet, so to speak, don't put the time and effort in. For a player so young, it's concerning but fast becoming a regular issue for up and coming youngsters.
It makes you question the club and ask whether or not we did any background checks on him, if so did we take a gamble on him.
We saw last season, that prior to breaking his leg he looked like he could become a world class LB.
come on Shaw take your chance and show us what you can do.

God KG, don't let jred see this. Sure isn't shaw just a poor unfortunate young man who had a bad injury. Are you really telling me that shaw had a lack of motivation and dedication in his Southampton days? Never! 😮😮.

Hi Angel,
From what this lad has said it was the lack of desire to become a top top player from Shaw. For example, he wouldn't put the additional hours in after training and although physically he was developing ok his mental attitude wasn't that of a top player. It has also been well reported that Jose almost signed Shaw for Chelsea but decided against the idea following a meeting with Shaw and his representatives that only lasted half-hour max. Just passing on what I've been told but it seems reasonable enough to believe. I'm not doubting Shaw's potential and the injury was a shame, however I'm not convinced he's Man Utd player and behind the scenes there might be a stituation which will prevent him from ever being that.

Cheers Ed, look forward to it.

{Ed002's Note - The issue at Chelsea was the valuation Southampton put on the player - well beyond what Chelsea valued him at.}

So Chelsea wanted him and united bought him for 30 .
Shame neither of these clubs talked to Kings mate .
Some won't be happy until he is sacked.

I think a lot of youngsters look at the lifestyle "top players" live, such as Ronaldo, Neymar etc. that we niw have access to via various forms of social media. However what is overlooked is the fact that what we see is only 5% of their daily life, which they have 'earned' through hard work and dedication in the other 95%. Youngsters don't seem to realise that the best players in the world are the ones who work the hardest, and similarly the ones with the longest careers also work the hardest.

This generation, of which I myself have become guilty of, is being spoilt.

Good post mpez. Shame shaw hasn't bucked up and worked hard. He should really appreciate where he is at.

Now it looks like he'll be sold.

Thanks for the responses. I agree MPez. Puts Jose's open critical comments about the player in perspective and Lingards contract if you ask me. I think the message from him especially to the younger players is clear, either pull your socks up and work hard or you can leave. It's what the club need some on be fair.

If you can't pull your finger out for 35m then see ya, if we can get anything for him.
