Erm well why does any1 want to do a tour?

2.) 04 Apr 2014
He has used us for a bigger contract I think

3.) 04 Apr 2014
It will be interesting to see what standard of player we will be able to attract in summer given the almost certain lack of Champions League and the growing Evertonisation of our club. I hope we can pick up some top standard players and that they want to come to play for the manager.

4.) 04 Apr 2014
Do u Redman? If we get top level players that want to play for Moyes, what will u have to moan about? I think u would be just as happy if no one signed ;-) u could keep up ure Simon Cowell bad guy image then :-) (smiles)

Sexton signed Wilkins Jordan and McQueen on top of the Docs exciting cup winners and still won nothing. If they sign for Moyes and he still can't win the big prizes he is the Sexton standard manager I suspect he is. If he can't attract them then there is the suspicion we will have moved towards becoming the new Everton of the last 11 years, a respected former great club. I suspect Kroos is using us and I have to wonder if the very top players will come given the lack of CL and high profile manager regardless of the money we throw at them. Still I want our club to buy exciting players as I did under Sexton but it is making it work to win things that is the challenge.

I remain concerned that with the Evertonisation of our club we will be less attractive to top players than we were, despite our great name and tradition, let's hope we can sign them because we all want to see us win

6.) 04 Apr 2014
As long as we pay top wages players will come. Don't forget most players are greedy, don't you know that the term " I liked the project" translates to "they offered to pay me the most".

7.) 04 Apr 2014
Ah but when we win the CL everyone will want to join us.

Side note:
Saw a great quote yesterday about Cavani he would look right at home in sandals with a sword (As long as he has at least a loincloth on)

8.) 04 Apr 2014
Haha Pardoe ;) Thought I saw him in the film Troy.

9.) 04 Apr 2014
Red Man please can you tell me what Evertonisation is. Do you think that because of one poor season, during major change and upheaval, we will become a much smaller club instead of being one of the biggest.?

10.) 04 Apr 2014
Redman . Do you honestly think Everton will do business with United ever again after such derisory bids over the past year by Dithering Dave . NO Chance . The selling club image is a thing of the past .
Reports in the press say 1 club out of the top 5 wealthy clubs will be declared bankrupt in the next couple of years, just as Rangers were . Paying extortionate fees does guarantee success . but is does show lack of investment in younger players . and fear of losing support

11.) 04 Apr 2014
God u talk some tripe Cheshire cat.

12.) 04 Apr 2014
Red man
I understand that you are not happy with moyes' tenure so far but he won the lma manager of the year three times, that's more than wenger and only one less than AF himself.
I've got to say that I expected more from this season but give the bloke a chance to build his team. I get the feeling you base his qualities on the fact you don't like his personna, if Mourinho was battering his eyelashes at you, you would accept that this is a period of rebuilding

Evertonisation, we have the former manager, the assistant manager, the goal keeping coach, Phil Neville and added Fellaini. We have the more conservative style of play the manager prefers and I sense the aspiration levels as well. Add to that the manager wanted Baines and allegedly wants Coleman.

Cheshire Cat

Everton will do business when we offer enough money, but my concern is that if we fill up with Everton standard we will become Everton as under Moyes and finish around seventh, wait.

Snakey

The top managers won cups and leagues not a prize for doing well as an underdog on a limited budget. SAF won awards following actually winning prizes. Moyes has no proven quality, no cups, no first place, only doing well on a budget, unlike a list of managers, top managers like Mourinho who know how to win.
This is Manchester United, one of the worlds great clubs and we have someone who hasn't won a thing and we have no idea whether he can guide a team past the winning post even if he spends £200M. I would accept a manager being given a major rebuilding job if I knew the man had shown he had the previous skills and ability to do it.

14.) 04 Apr 2014
Or you guys can all just ignore sully/redman as his dribble is genuinely just stupid stuff now.

The eds should come up with an ignore button so that I can put this guy on it.

15.) 04 Apr 2014
Red man, part of being a great club is showing trust, loyalty and a commitment to the long term. All the evidence shows that knee jerk changes of manager produce not success but consistent failure. SAF was within a whisker of being sacked but the club stood by him and got the reward. For heavens sake, give Moyes a chance. He inherited a team that was past it's best and needs time and support to rebuild.

16.) 04 Apr 2014
I don't always agree with Red Man but he has a point here, particularly around the LMA award. Receiving an award from over achieving at Everton doesn't necessarily translate into winning things with a big club

17.) 04 Apr 2014
Paulo

Study what Chelsea have won versus what SAF won, it is very similar over the last few years, that is not consistent failure. It is about winning not stability for stability sake.

GCU
So let me get this right, you can call me Sully, (an insult relating to a supposedly frightening children's in a children's TV programme) stupid, tell me I am talking sh.t, there should be an ignore button, oh and I should go, and that is classified as adult banter, really? Ha, Can you really not come up with anything better? Or is the truth too much for you?

18.) 04 Apr 2014
@ AJH
I agree that Moyes winning an award from his peers is not a guarantee of success at a big club but it certainly is a guarantee that Moyes is not the hapless fool redman believes him to be. He has made mistakes but so did AF and he certainly brought success. Fact remains that a manager held in such high esteem by other managers deserves a time to build and dare I say it a little respect for his achievements, I hope he can fulfil his potential.

19.) 04 Apr 2014
Paulo

I have written a few times that I lived through the SAF early years (and a long way prior) and we knew his cv, it was a winners cv and the club was in a real mess far far beyond where we were last summer. The winning bit, the proof of ability just isn't on Moyes cv like SAFs

20.) 04 Apr 2014
Snakey

I don't believe Moyes is a hapless fool, of course he isn't. He is a good football manager, a decent man. He has shown loyalty and the ability to utilise limited resources to keep a club at respectable level. It shows in his survival football. However it isn't enough to be manager of one of the biggest clubs in the world, expected to win the biggest prizes. You hope he can fulfil his potential, but what potential? At what stage has he shown potential to win anything? Seriously when has he shown that? Even Martinez at Wigan won something, what confirmed Moyes potential?

21.) 05 Apr 2014
Not sure people have called him a hapless fool, the issue which gets lost on the insults is his qualifications for the job. Most of us assumed a criteria would have been established, a candidate profile created. I would have hoped it included things such as proven winner, attractive football, European experience, track record of building entertaining sides. Which of these does DM tick? Clearly he is a good manager but his achievement has been keeping Everton in the top 7 whilst operating on a shoestring. Yes he may go on to do well, yes he is a decent Manager, but the selection still seems flawed.

22.) 05 Apr 2014
AJH

The selection to you might seem flawed but answer me a simple question. What did Busby, Shankly, Cappello, Ancelloti, Martimo, have on their cv's before being appointed to a big job.

I can name 10 more managers for you if you like. I can also name you 10 managers who have what you call the requirements, who have been disasters when appointed to a big job.

The point is that it is quite naive to look at it that way without considering the circumstances of each individual and their achievements.

I think most here miss the point of what organisations look for and United is an organisation when selecting a manager.
