To be fair, I don't buy into these McCarthy rumours at all, I think it's all rubbish unless it was for a swap with Cleverley because he is awful and McCarthy would make a better squad addition. The way the press are talking though we have gone from one week wanting Kroos and Robben to wanting McCarthy and Konoplyanka! I personally think that we are still in for Kroos, Bayern want to play hardball and we don't want to look silly if Ed cocks it up again.

the following day kroos say united never an option.
sounds to me kroos has been using united and doesn't fancy the move and united are trying to save face

I said from day we was linked to kroos he would just be using us to get a contract why would he leave one of the best teams in the world atm to join us, crazy the amount of utd fans who actually thought it would be pulled off

That is my impression too, I always thought buying a top German youngster from Bayern would be very difficult and was surprised that many thought it was so likely, hope i'm wrong and there is still a possibility but we'll see
