What are your thoughts on Anderson being a surprise bonus next season?

I think he could play the 8 role for LVG and could be a huge asset if he gets a good pre-season in him. He was a bit too reckless in a midfield 2 but I think he has all the skills to be a great player in a midfield 3, he attacks, takes the game to the opposition, passes very well, strong, quick, just lacks a bit of fitness and a run of games in a quality team.

I think given a chance he could eventually live up to the hope we had when he first signed. We still definitely need signings in midfield obviously, but as this will take a few windows he could be a surprise star for us next season imo.

I think he's had all his chances mate. If LVG is as strict as we are hearing I imagine Ando will be one of the first out of the door. Of all our current midfielders I think Clevs may be the one to improve under LVG and surprise a few people.

Is it that time of the year already?

OMG Beast I can't believe you even had the balls to write that.
How many chances has he had?
Face it, he's a fat overweight lazy git who's pi**ed away his talent.

Maybe lvg strictness will work, get him back into shape I always preferred Anderson to chevs better range of passing

Beast is that a tongue in cheek post?

Cue the fat jokes.
He's a sad case really. Bought in as a young dynamic attacking midfielder with skill and huge potential. And told to 'control' the midfield in a 2 man mid.Why did we ever bother? We played a formation in which there was no place for even kaka, let alone poor old anderson. Not every player can change his position and perform successfully. And now, his confidence is gone and its too late.

He didn't really get a chances last season. I think he was pulled off after 60 mins against Norwich and was our best player, yet the commentators didn't recognise it as usual.

I think Anderson suffered from SAF not spending quite as much time with young talent as he had in the past. He was kind of left to fester and get fatter, this wouldn't have happened 10 years ago and we would see a much better player now.

Of all our players that have flopped over recent years Anderson is the one I would roll the dice on as he has exactly what we need in his locker, it's just getting him to open it. A new shape (system wise) and man manager like the old Fergie could do that.

Imightbesomeone I think if you remember ando was immense in a 2 man midfield in his first season hen injuries struck.

He did have fitter players around him though a few years ago.

Recently, immobile Carrick, Evra, Vidic & Rio plus inept wingers does not allow for a midfielder like Anderson to flourish, he needs movement around him and cover for when mistakes are made. A 3 man mid with some energy on the wings and at the back will allow him to thrive, if it isn't too late of course.

Not sure he is the answer but as with Nani I think within a defined role and strict fitness programme Anderson could be useful. Just not the answer!

Caolan

Yes, it started of nicely. But not for nearly long enough to be sure that partnership could take on better teams consistently.Point being, don't have space for a CAM-dont buy a CAM

Be better off with Hans Christian Anderson
