New year. Same sh!t. Let's list the players who are not and will never be good enough for an elite team. Hernandez, Young, Nani, Smalling, Lingard, Fellaini, etc etc etc. I hope this will shut up all of the fools on this site who live in some delusional world where we don't need MASSIVE improvements. Fletcher isn't good enough to be a starter. Some may argue that due to injuries LVG was stuck with a tough selection. But it's HIS FAULT that he had a tough selection. I cannot understand how people get paid to be football managers, yet can't see what every tom, dick and harry can see. Young, fellaini, nani, hernandez, etc are not good, and it doesn't take a month of in person training to tell that. It takes watching them play for a few matches. Did no one get LVG tape of last year's matches?

LVG has made a few huge mistakes. First, he should have gotten rid of the crap players immediately. Anyone who needs more than a week to get rid of the dead weight dragging down the team doesn't deserve the United managers position. Secondly, he needed to quickly move to improve the squad. Now, by the time and improvements get bedded down into the side it'll be season over. Finally, his desire to slowly bring players back into the team has left us far behind the other teams, and especially when we have so few decent players outside of the few world class players we have.

I know I'm going to get people telling me to have patience, blah blah blah. But these are the same people who have been wrong every step of the way. Moyes, Rooney, on and on. I've been saying the same thing all summer and today is just the first of what I feared would be a disastrous start to the campaign, in a year when we can't afford it. LVG, you may be a good manager, but if it takes you this long to realize how bad some of these players are, and if you are unable to bring players into the team, I don't see you making it to the point where your system starts to click bc at this rate it'll be next april by the time we have players in and comfortable in the system. Why did we lose? Bad players. Surprising? No. These are the same bad players from last year, and the same bad players every real united fan has known should be gone months or years ago. LVG made his bed for today's match over the last 6 weeks, and I just wonder how long he's going to have to lie in it. It's not confusing or complicated. It's simple. The only three people in the world who seem to rate these players are SAF (in his old age confusion) Moyes, and LVG. I believe I could do better than any of them. I wouldn't even need to show up. I could just set a rule that players like young, nani, fellaini, never play for my team. ever. and I would do better than moyes last season or lvg today. midtable talent. midtable result.

You need to take it easy, first game of the sea on and we are a wrecked team with too many injuries. I do agree we need 3 top sings and blind is not one of them IMO.

I hope we don't start the same silly stuff from last year with people blaming the manager for everything. Maybe today's result will make the club push the button and get on with some quality transfers. Vidal, Quadrado/dimaria would make a huge difference and will transform this team.I do hope we get Benatia. 100 million I guess in spend needed.

I have changed my tune today we need 3-4 new faces in the team or we will finish mid table and the new players are to try and get top 4 not to win the league that is not going to happen any time soon

It's fustrating why everybody can see the issues at united yet nothing is happening to fix them, big sponsor deals all this is irrelevant what we need is signings and we need them now

this team right now is one off the worst in united history we are lacking class in defense and midfield I can see it being another long old season Woodward needs to save his job by spending

All of this considered, what happens when you realises that you're not playing fifa and you can't click your fingers and buy a new 11 dream team?

Oh yeah you realise that deep down you're a utd fan and should take the rough with the smooth and have faith.

I agree. Sell or loan or freeze them outta the first team. Play youngsters instead.
Atleast the young ones do care and play with determination and desire.
Young was awesome in preseason and looked so scared today.
What's frustrating is that did not sign de vrij bcoz he was inexperienced and vermaelen and hummels did not want to come. We are left with no-one.
We won't sign Clasie or Blind or De Jong and Vidal and Strootman won't come. Kroos abd Fabregas and koke? What happened to them?
And di maria? He is as good as james rodriguez and would certainly terrorise opposition defences. It's a food for thought for the management and If Van Gaal is The same person who managed bayern I would like him to kick out all the sub-standard players out.

Thing is we are utd fans and we are into a new season, have had so much time to bring players in where we need them after losing most of the defence and having a mediocre midfield surely anyone can see new players are required.
We keep getting told the money is there so why is it not being spent and getting players we need when everyone has just about finished their transfer business and here we are AGAIN scrapping about as normal.Only happened since woodward took over the reigns.

Hang on you're saying Lingard isn't good enough? The poor lad got 20mins on the pitch before he was injured. He didn't look bad out there at all before that.

Agree kg a lot of back slapping had been going on on here after a few friendly wins which mean absolutely jack.The deadwood should of been shipped out years ago.4 major signing are needed or forget about the champions league
