A great game, Utd are back.Still it is only 1 game but it certainly showed what has been missing and that quality is important. There is still plenty of room for improvement, but at least we have something to build on rather than hanging onto mediocre players. The one who is still a big question mark for me is Evans, he has a good game and then a few bad games, Is he utd quality or do we need a more reliable solid defender, I think we do.Impressed with Blackett, a couple of mistakes but will be very good the more he plays. At least we won't be sighing when it comes to games and looking forward to them with winners in the team.

A good window at last.Falcaeo was a bolt out of the blue for sure and a great signing.Would have liked to have seen Hummels or Vidal but building a team takes time.We stagnated the last couple of years while others kept building and it showed, maybe now we can push on.We have good players, a good manager and woodward seems to be learning at last how to get a player, just needs to get them sooner.CL has to be the aim now and then imagine what pulling power we would have and not have to be held to ransom by clubs to get players.I do wish Wellbeck all the best and its a good move for him, along with shinji and Little pea, pity we couldn't have offloaded some of the others instead of them,

Not long to go, many players on the way out and many names being mentioned of who we are in talks or looking at.All assumptions but nothing concrete, some say its, others its off, so we just don't know.
If we are to see a new team by Monday, Ed the ned really has his work cut out over the weekend him right as it should have been done much sooner. All I can see is another panic transfer window and with Ed the ned it doesn't fill me with much hope.I do believe we will get better and LVG needs time and has the experience to do it, unlike Moyes who played a whole season changing things and resulting in no return and at least LVG is taking the action that is needed and getting rid of deadwood that have been sitting on their laurals getting chanace after chance to prove themselves and blown it.There isn't much players left to buy of quality left as most have already signed elsewhere, thanks Ed woodward.Hope the holidays were good.

1.) You realise that in the 13 months Woodward has been at the club - our net spend on transfers is only £26m less than our net spend in the entirety of the 20 years that preceded that period, right? (approx £216m vs £190m)

If Moyes told Woodward to go out and sign Bale and Fabregas last summer - how exactly is that his fault if the players don't want to come? He's clearly willing to spend money - but if the players the manager is asking for don't want the move there isn't much he can do.

The same goes for this summer. It looks as though LVG asked him to go out and sign Shaw, Herrera, Kroos, Vidal, Vermaelen, Di Maria and Hummels. Kroos and Vermaelen preferred Real and Barcelona, Dortmund are asking for silly money for Hummels and Vidal is injured.

Shaw and Herrera came in early and Di Maria (arguably the best of the bunch) was signed for a British transfer record. When it became clear that we couldn't sign Vermaelen and switched our attention to Rojo the deal was done within a week. I think people need to cut the guy some slack.

2.) If LVG hadn't doddered about thinking deals can be done like they were 20 years ago we wouldn't be in this panic position. He took too long analysing the different types of averageness in our squad and then expected miracles to be done in the market.

The same players he wants rid of now, we could have pretty much told him this before he took his first training session. Shows how much effect Giggs has - 6 weeks wasted and 1 point to show, plus a tricky game tomorrow!

3.) Beast - I have to agree on that point. Players like Young, Ando, Nani, Clevs, Chico and Fellaini are clearly not Manchester United players. Evra is getting on and Kagawa is a decent CAM but is not better than Mata.

He could and should have been able to learn all this a lot quicker and if not should have delegated the responsibility to somebody who had worked with the team in the past. If only he had an assistant manager who had played with all of those players in the past who he could have asked?

It irks me a little that he came out today and said that he'd given everybody a fair chance - pointing out that those who didn't play in America were given a fair chance against MK Dons. It's no wonder we played so poorly when a lot of the players on the pitch basically had one game to play for their future. There's pressure - and there's that.

Its good to see another signing and despite LVG just been in the job for 6 weeks or so, we have had more signings near enough than in the last few windows and money is at last been spent on players who are good quality. It has shown that the players we have trundled along with last year and so far this year are just not upto the quality of a great team as Man Utd, so its time to get rid of them. They have had enough chances. If Evans is our stand out defender, then we are in big trouble. My one critisisim is that other teams did their transfer early and got time to bed them in and as usual we leave it till the last minute and that costs us, as players need time.We also have played only a few games and look at the amount of injuries to players we need on the pitch.I don't doubt we will come back but it will take time and we still need some more players, Rome wasn't built in a day and after hanging onto players who just think they are playing on a Saturday pub league and drawing massive wages for it things need to change and those players have to go, they need passion and will to fight for the team to be part of it.

At long last, the broom is coming out.Cleverly away(hopefully) wellbeck, decent squad player but certainly not the calibre we need, does a lot of running around and no end result so I for one won't miss him.James Wilson looks a great player and can hit the goal and I would put him on before Wellbeck. With more players leaving than coming in is my worry, especially with worry woodward in talks, he is either doing nothing or if he pulls it off and surprises us all, he will be a right secret squirrel.

Be they home grown or not, would you keep them on the payroll if you had to pay their wages?
They had plenty of chances to prove themselves and didn't take them a team is a team and work for the benefit of that team.I can't say i'm sorry to see him leave, I wish he had made it, but he was a liability and maybe this is better for him in the long run, certainly for the team it is.

You can't be serious?/Cleverly needs to go and fast he is useless, in fact beyond useless. There should be apeople carrier waiting to take some of the players onto another club.We are playing some of the supposed easier teams at the minute what will happen when we start to come up against the likes of Chelsea, man city, arsenal, even Liverpool, everton Tottenham, the way we are playing now I dread it and the rrsult.Things need to change fast and players need to go and replaced.

Reading some of the posts on Wellback, have I been watching another player?Yes he does a lot of running about, but anyone can run around in circles and get nowhere, its about running and doing something with the ball at the end.He doesn't.I don't doubt his passion, but what is the point if he shoots it goes over the bar, he tries to dribble and his feet get tangled up, passes go amiss or he ends up falling over.Sorry if it upsets some but in your heart of hearts can you really say he is class.I can't see what he has done in a Man Utd shirt apart from a couple of decent performances the rest have been rubbish.

Im with you on that Shappy. Our midfield is weak and needs a boost somewhere.Am I confident at this stage of the transfer window with the way we do our business, no i'm not.But live in hope.

I can't see how 1 winger will make a big difference when we need a defence and midfield who are not playing well.Injuries are a big problem and we need some fresh blood with hunger for success and not players who feel nervous due to last year.rather than hanging on to people such as cleverly who is not up to the plate, get rid.Nani and the rest who are named here frequently need to go and even use youngsters with ambition rather than the same old as last year.If Woodward is so good with figures why waste it in retaining mediocre players when it could be spent on better players.I see some panic buying as last year, but I hope not.
