That performance probably depressed me more than any of the other defeats this season.

We make four changes. Ok, not great when we've been on a winning run, but the players brought in should still be adequate enough to beat West Brom.

We're down to ten men early. Ok, not ideal, but not the end of the world. Teams can win with ten men. I mean it's West Brom, not Barca. Still doable, surely?

We're slowly but surely, starting to exert a bit of control over the game, and at this point it all starts to go sour.

A defensive-minded midfielder brought on for a midfielder who provides the only energy and hustle-bustle we possess in the middle of the park. And we leave Carrick on instead. Now, I've always liked Michael, but pacey and energetic, he's not.

Then they score, and it really starts to go pear-shaped.

But wait. What positive changes can LVG bring to the table to influence the game? What's his Plan B, C or D? A manager of his experience must have been in this situation before. Let's see what magic he can weave. Three at the back? Go with one in the middle?

Um, a winger for a winger. Er, ok.

Louis, you do know we're one behind, there's not much time left, and at this stage of the season, we need points, not to be worrying about goal difference, and holding on to a 1-0 loss?

Ok, I'll give you one more chance. There's 10 minutes left, show me what you can do.

What's that? You're bringing off a defender? Brilliant! Let's give it a go now. 3 at the back, I presume. Who's coming on for Darmian?

Fosu-Mensah? Another full-back?

Go home, Louis you're drunk.

We can still win the Europa league though? Right?

Any hopes I had for top 4 have gone after this match, because no matter how well we play in other games Louis always drags us back down to the same dire performances.

Great start to the week!

His substitutions make no sense week after week, he very rarely does the thing that all of us are crying out for, it is like he thinks he should do something totally random so if it works he looks like a genius, but it never does. Fosu-Mensah on in the last 10 minutes was like he was trying to get sacked, it is clear that during the game he has no clue what he is doing at all.

On Wednesday he took off Herrera and put on Lingard, seemingly in centre midfield, but nobody really knew what formation we were playing or what we were doing as Rashford was already on the right. We got away with it somehow with Mata getting the winner, but yesterday (and more often that not) the subs make us worse.

If that had have been a home game, I think the fans would have made it very obvious to him, what they thought of his decisions.

I mean a full back for a full back, 1-0 down with ten minutes to go?

No matter how times I say it, it doesn't sound any less ridiculous!
