Its late so this post might fall by the way side. This is call to all happy to see lvg stay. As I will state. I want lvg to stay. There was a post earlier about allegri having an average squad and still being sacked.
Look at our squad. So many past their peak, so many new faces and partnerships being formed. Luis constantly saying we need more pace and penetration in attack. Do you honestly think he doesn't see what you see? He will want specific players. This is no where near a finished article. Forget the 200 million. City and Chelsea have spent more than that to establish thier teams at the top. We spent for the future and to stay competative, of course needing better quality added but look on the bright side. You talk about no progression? We have a squad full of new faces that you see are bonding well and developing understandings.

No team in the world sees an overhaul like ours and doesn't dip. It was absolutely forseeablr for me. Lvg is spoken of very highly in terms of technical understanding of the game. To call him a clown Is distasteful. He earned a living at the top of the game. What have you done? I want to speak more of this at a later date but I just wanted to put my cards down and say I'm fine to see lvg stay. Would like to hear from others who think the same or similiar.

My view on the situation is this:

The style of play is horrific to watch, why would any flair/ creative player want to play under LVG, we have creative under mata and he gets played on the wing? He constantly tells us that expectations are too high, this is Manchester United not any other team, why would people pay for a season ticket to watch sideways footballs. I wanna see magic moments not players who clearly don't enjoy it anymore. He sold half the team then moans about injuries, Now if LVG gets us in top four and wins the F. A cup then he should retire. Arguably the best manager in the world is begging to join us. Why would woody pass on this? LVG has said it will be his last season, so what will United gain more unhappy fans? this is another big transfer window coming up and LVG can't attract the same players as what Jose could. Also giggs needs to go learn his trade,

Have to say, I agree with Marmite. I have seen nothing from watching us since LVG took over that would make me want to keep him.

We got knocked out of the easiest champions league group available, then knocked out of the Europa league by arguably our biggest rivals and the team didn't even look as though they cared. This is instilled by the manager in my view. I'll not even mention the league.

Get rid, the sooner the better.

It's simply a case of availability.

LVG even if he stayed would only be staying 1 more year. in 1 more year Mourinho would not be available.

Rational response - Get Mourinho now, thank LVG for his time and work and let him retire to Portugal as planned.

Hope we win the cup so the Dutch fossil can finish with winning something in England and then retire . I think the third year contract is an option that we are not going to renew and that Jose is coming in soon after the season ends 😆😆.

The real issue for me is that ANY manager in what is known to be his last year will not be allowed to make any really radical forward looking decisions simply because he will not be around to see things through and may well lumber the next incumbent still players who are not wanted on long exorbitant contracts. LVG out is not the unthinking cry of a toxic but simply the pragmatic view on the effectiveness of any manager with a well advertised somewhat distant exit date.
Just look across the city!

Every single player in midfield is a support midfielder not a chief, the defence has been largely makeshift and the attack coudnt pick each other out of a line up at the start of the season. Put a spine of quality to this team and you'll get good football. I've watched every game well aware of the football we play.

Expectations are too high for the reality of the team we have. Leicester are a perfect example of team spirit and good understanding between the players, Tottenham after years of post bale tinkerings have formed a gelled team, arsenal settled team, city settled team pep diabolical nonwithstanding and plenty of quality. Out team not settled still missing quality. Expectations short term are too high. Long term definitely not. You think the club aren't working on that? Don't be daft.

I agree with Robbie. If we keep LVG one more year then what? I assume Pep, Conte, Klopp and Mourinho will all be unavailable, Allegro is supposedly close to signing a new deal. Simeone. well people are concerned about Jose being negative so he hardly fits the united philosophy. Giggs? Totally unproven as a manager. Pochettino? If spurs finish above us again why would he leave? If they finish below us why would we want him?

Mourinho is available, he is desperate for the job, he will do everything in his power to a) beat Pep, b) beat Chelsea c) prove he is the best manager ahead of Pep, Conte, Klopp, Poch, Wenger et al. I don't particularly like his ego but it makes him driven and you need an ego to succeed. Fergie had one, Ronaldo and Messi both have one as did Zidane Ronaldinho Keane etc etc.

How are expectations too high? A team that almost got relegated last year won the league whilst spending a fraction of what we spent on Depay. Yes they have team spirit and good understanding that's what Ranieri has done. He played players in their proper positions and made few unforced changes so they could develop an understanding. You don't see vardy playing CM or Kante as their first choice CB.

City are an aging team, Chelsea imploded, arsenal remain inconsistent, Liverpool are in transition. again. We should have been challenging for the title not 4th place. If the first team or squad isn't good enough that's due to LVG's transfers, man management and tactics.
