New season and all that, thought I'd give the live chat a go again. Logged on, read a couple of pages and logged off again.
The bitching and whinging truly is pathetic.


Earlier today people were calling this a meaningless friendly, and saying the weekends first game was much more important. Then we go a goal down in that meaningless friendly, and we get meltdown.

One of the Eds last season distinguished the difference between a 'supporter' and a'fan'. Didn't really get the point at the time, but he/ she certainly made a good point.

Nothing wrong with constructive criticism or airing your views - that's the whole point of the site. But some absolutely NEVER have anything good to say about the team they supposedly 'support'.

That may well claim to be a 'fan' when the going is good, but are nowhere to be seen when the team need their 'support'.

I'm sure the said negative bunch will be out in force to disagree, and the usual banter police will put me straight, but the majority know where I am coming from.

A few friendlies before the season has even started, and the foundations Are already being paid for the perennial 'manager out' brigade.

What ever happened to the days when supporters got behind their team, and through good times and bad, cheered their team on.

I see posts on here all the time about ' City have got so and so', or 'the scousers have better players' etc etc.

Personally, I couldn't give a rubbish what other teams do. Who their managers are or who they sign. What I care about is United and being supportive and loyal to the team.


It's not all beer and skittles admittedly, but that's what being a supporter is all about. I think a few need to realise or remember that.

Very good and sensible post that Betty bur its usually the minority that moan. Most supporters on here are pretty good and very supoortive of the club.

Great post Betty.
Too many only support results and or performances. Important as they are this is not the same as supporting the team.
Real support in football as in real friends in life is that real support only materialises when you are down.
