I haven’t seen a lot of De Ligt but aware of his ability and reputation from his time at Ajax. Since then he’s looked to have not kicked on and had a number of injuries. Is he really going to be a big upgrade on maguire?

I hope so. All the raw materials are there but he has been stop start for a few seasons.

Technically he is far superior. Let's hope he is upto the the physical challenge of the Premier league.

If you check the Liverpool site, you'd seem to think we were signing a poor player because he has not been able to get game time for his country. On the other hand, I don't see nobody saying Konate is poor because Upamecano plays ahead of him. If the right structure and style of play is in place, De ligt will certainly be an upgrade to the team. No defender would have looked good with the team setup and midfield we had last season. Hopefully the manager makes the right adjustments.
