I feel that its pointless talking about Utd until they have a decent keeper and at least two top quality, midfielders.
Redc devil fan talks well about the problems of an inferior GK
Utd haven't had a good quality midfielder since Carrick. Games are won andmlostnin midfield. Its inevitable Utd will struggle.
I understood the need dor more goals in the bream but the £200 million spent on new attackers would have been better spent on midfielders.
The existing attackers and playmakers would have benefited mmensely and probably would have started scoring more.

I agree I think we should of gone for a keeper Guehi and Wharton from Palace and Baleba. We have zero pace in this team and we hardly ever dictate the play
We have 2 players in that squad who are absolutely brain dead Dalot and Ugarte both woeful.

For all we know, the club might have been trying to get them players but had to hold back because of our financial issues.

Ugarte and Casemiro had high reputations when they arrived at united. Fernandes would probably get into most teams in the league, mainoo looked like a worldie when he came into the team. Not to mention McTominay won player of the year last season I think?
Maybe its not the personnel but instead how they are being deployed? Don't get me wrong I don't think it all falls at amorims feet but these players didn't turn bad overnight, most of them will move on and have good careers i would guess.

More importantly both were being replaced by the club they were at.
Casemiro for younger players and Ugarte for an upgrade.
I remember ED2 saying United should have been looking for the next Casemiro.
And we had been linked a lot to Neves who has proved to be excellent at PSG in the very role we despearately need.
I thibkbits unfair to blame Amorim for Cas' legs going or for Ugarte who he sold at Sporting to upgrade to Hjulmand considering he bought neither, both were poor under ETH and their last clubs wanted them replaced. Perhaps that last factor was the one we should have considered the most.
