I think all the players in that starting 11 would be more than capable of playin in the same side but it would be more of 4231 with the fullbacks pushing on and carrick sitting infront of the cb pairing at all times giving Vidal freedom to get involved as he he's a proven goalscorer aswell. obviously though kagawa would be in the middle of the 3 meaning Rooney would have to bite the bullet and play to the right of him. but what a side that would be!

I agree and would love to see it but I can't see DM dropping Valencia as he is a workaholic and the type of player Moyes loves using. This at the expense of kagawa which is a great shame

Evans is very over rated by people on here I always think we look terrible at the back when he plays I would sell him promote keane play jones smalling and vidic as much as possible in the centre and keane can come in when needed so I agree with fredo

Evans imo is our best defender. He is a lot faster than Vidic, Ferdinand and even Smalling, has good positional awareness and is the most accomplished of the bunch when it comes to ability on the ball.

Browred, my point wasn't whether or not Evans was good enough, which I think he is by the way.

If I have to explain what my actual point was, then it probably wasn't that good a point to begin with.

I know what your point was its just it annoys how highly everybody rates evans he is average and always got a mistake in him. As long as he is in the side we will be shakey at the back we looked good Saturday with vidic and smalling. Smalling has far more potential than evans imo.

Evans in the grand scheme of things is not in top 10 best CB's in the EPL. He is however probably the best (outside Vidic) we have presently.

To contrary of a previous poster I think he is constantly out of position. He tends to get bullied by the more powerful strikers.

I think he makes an excellent squad CB (in the John O'Shea mould) but we could do with a world class CB to play alongside Jones. Smalling is a liability on and off the field).

Evans is probably our most natural defender. He is going nowhere. I don't quite understand the comment that he is utter crap? Some people on here probably believe our squad should be made up of just 11 players the way some of them talk.

You could probably add, Jones, Vertonghen, Mertesacker, Skrtel, Terry etc, etc.

The man is a squad player.
