Any chhance of Vertongen over Vermaelen? Far better in every area, looked solid at left back all of the WC too.

And what left back is going to come in to play backup to a 19 year old we've just spent the best part of 30 million on? That's why we're being linked to players like vermaelen and blind, players who can cover leftback in an emergency but their primary position is elsewhere.
