The easy part was agreeing a fee with AC Milan who want rid of him. The difficult part will be agreeing personal terms with Balotelli and Raiola. That will not be easy and the transfer as a package will be an expensive one.

I'm sorry but Balotelli is a laugh a minute ball of top quality entertainment, and as much as I'm delighted to see him come back to the EPL I wish it wasn't to the scouse. Suarez on the other hand was a just a bad tempered little cheat.

I think its a shocking signing the bloke rubs everyone up the wrong way, he is meant to be a lovely generous bloke but as far as football goes he is a liability and the deal is good news for everyone around liverpool in the league a land mine waiting to go off

If you consider Balotelli wants €6m a season (after tax), which is £4.8m a season. Liverpool will need to pay him £9.6m a season to get over the 50% tax rate. Say he signs a 5-year deal (will never stay that long, 2 years max), that's £48m. Then add on Mino Raiola's agent fees. Add the FA's fee, all the other fees and in truth Balotelli will be more like a £75m+ package. Which is more than they got for Suarez (prob around £60m after Ajax and Suarez cut).

It's a lot of money and unless Balotelli and Raiola are more reasonable, we may see it go tits up like the Remy deal did. I think it probably will go through, but it's a risky one for the amount of cash involved.

The first quality player they've signed this window. His wages are only double those of Nani's - and he's more than twice as effective. I think we may struggle to push them out of the top 4 this season now (and that's assuming we sign Vidal).

Sydney quite frankly you should stay away from all this talk of finances and packages because you haven't got a clue. You include balotellis wages to figure how he will be more expensive than Suarez but fail to comprehend the fact that Liverpool will not be paying money to Suarez while he plays for Barcelona. I understand you are desperate with your lacklustre signings and want Liverpool to fail but atleast make some sense

I actually think its a very good signing. He's top quality forward and if br can control him, then he'll be a superb addition to the scousers.
