What a performance. Middlesbrough are one of the highest scoring teams in the Championship and we kept them scoreless for 90 minutes. We would have won and all if Lingard's shot had been an inch lower. Rooney completely transformed the game since he came on, their defence just don't know how to cope with his movement. Such an exciting game, apart from the last few minutes. It certainly wouldn't be a game that you sit down to watch after a long day in work and end up napping for half an hour in the middle. Think of what you'd have missed!

Can't wait for someone to point out the positives and the huge strides as well as improvements we are making as a team just to give me a little hope.

I am losing the will to live. We are embarrassing.

Massive improvement by the lads tonight. Only took us 37 minutes to register a shot on target! If we carry on improving at this rate we'll have our rivals shaking in their boots.

No need to be negative. This is a team in the top 4 our their own league, and we took them to penalties. Look at the positives. We have lightened our schedule and Rooney had a shot on target.

Thanks Andy always good to hear the positives. Unfortunately we can't even take solace in the fact we had four youth debutants, two injuries to contend with and a return of a few players who have been out for a while.

Danny. I feel sorry for the likes of City, Barcelona, Real, Bayern. They've watched that tonight and been quaking in their boots!

I'm as gutted as anyone we got knocked out especially at home, our performance was woeful yes but that game wasn't ever going to show if massive strides had been made or not.
Arsenal got dumped out 3-0, the competition isn't taken that seriously by the biggest teams, the players didn't look devestated after losing, it's used for youth let's face it.

People need to chill, we won't play like that every week, we'll go back to winning against palace.
