Hi ed002. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on fan owned teams? We often hear about a large group of fans getting together to potentially buy their clubs, the Red Knights come to mind. Is it sustainable? Does it work for the bigger clubs? Or is it just a romantic notion that makes no sense in the modern game?

{Ed002's Note - There are plenty of fan owned lower level teams such as Wrexham, FC United of Manchester, Exeter City, Portsmouth etc. and as long as clubs can live within their means it works fine. Others, like Rushden & Diamonds and Gravesend & Northfleet saw problems with fan ownership. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Athletic Bilbao and Osasuna were formed registered associations who are owned by their membership as a collective. Bayern Munich was formed as a collective by the local gymnastics club and the original players and remains owned by the membership. These work but it would not be viable to take a club like Manchester United or Liverpool and do this today.}

Nice to see my hometown Wrexham mentioned on here, have been unlucky in a couple of managers taken away when they've been going well, not started so well this time at present and the knives are out for Bryan Hughes already.
Have been to watch fc United on a few occasions too when they used Curzon and Stalybridge grounds, have been to their Broadhurst stadium since, decent, was a bit of strife with player manager Greavsey leaving and board room unrest at the time.

Much appreciated ed. Our fans can't agree on much lately so I'll cancel the whip round.
