Crazy season so thought I would throw one out there. If we don't sign a centre half should we look towards a 3 at the back with Shaw and AWB alongside Maguire or Lindelof.
Might be even more a case if Maguire is suspended or given extra time off at the start of the season.

Shaw did well as part of the back 3 previously but AWB isn't great positionally and I feel he'd struggle as a CB, even in a 3.

Hopefully Tuanzebe gets fit soon as I think he's an ideal type of player for a partner of Maguire or Lindelof. He will still have to prove he can play at a high level but his raw attributes lend themselves to being a good partner for them.

Agree on the Tuanzebe front, I wonder if it is OGS preferred option going forward and not to spend big on bringing someone in.
Just needs to stay fit and get a run of games.

Shaw on the left of a back three I think works. However, I wouldn't be keen on the idea of having AWB at RCB. Especially if Maguire is the guy in the middle. Having Maguire as our only recognised CB on the pitch is asking for trouble in my opinion.

We have enough centre backs at the club to play three at the back that’s for sure.

AWB would then have to play wing back in that formation, which would require some training. He has the fitness for it for sure. We’d also need a new left wing back. unless OGS gives Dalot a Run if games if he can stay fit.

I've always thought this about AWB and Shaw but you couldn't play them both in a back 3 at the same time.

I think AWB really needs to be more productive in the final 3rd to be a top top Right back, at present he is so solid, however he sometimes leaves gaps behind him which I wouldn't mind as much if he could actually get the ball into the box.
