Well, yesterday was fantastic. Last year we only wanted to see a bit of fight from the players for the shirt, now we've got a team that doesn't give an inch, fights for every ball and puts their body on the line to get the win.

We have a proper team here. Varane and casemiro outstanding yesterday, but for me the motm was Martinez. He got split in the first half, yet continues to throw himself into every challenge and he made some vital blocks and clearances. Honestly, what a player he is.

Second half we managed that game to perfection, the subs were great and at the perfect times. Ten hag is doing a splendid job.

It may only be the league cup, but from the players reactions, especially the seasoned winners you could see what it means. We are by no means the finished article, we still need 3/ 4 players minimum I think. But, under this manager, with this group we are going places. The atmosphere last year was toxic, now it's the best I've seen in years.

Let's hope this is the springboard for more success.

Martinez is fantastic. He's exactly the sort of player we have needed for years. He puts his head where people don't put their feet. He and Casemiro have brought the aggression and winning mentality we were sorely lacking. Last season, if there was any adversity, the team folded, now it seems like nothing phases them.

Martinez and Casemiro are probably 2 of our 3 best signings since Fergie retired, along with Bruno Fernandes.

We never looked like losing yesterday. Newcastle had a fair bit of the ball but we were never really troubled. Ten Hag, as always, managed the game brilliantly. Great win and hopefully the catalyst to a few more trophies in the coming years.

Martinez is exactly what we’ve been lacking for some time.

He almost reminds me of dare I say it, Vidic. He never seemed afraid to throw himself in. He’s beginning to become my new favourite player.

Personally, league cup or not, this will only make them want more and I’m excited for the first time in a lot of years to see where this will go.

Ten Hag has been our best signing since Ferguson.

He has surpassed all expectations and has even surpassed what I thought he might do in the best case scenario this year.

Casemiro is a Rolls Royce of a player who’d walk into any midfield in world football.

Martinez is a Vidic-esque warrior for sure but let’s not forget he’s a lovely passing range too as well as those last ditch game saving tackles.

But what we need to credit Ten Hag most for is the belief he’s put back in the whole squad and the marked improvement we’ve seen in particular in Rashford, Shaw and Dalot.

Regardless of what our results were in the next 2 games pre Barcelona last Thursday, we went in to those games knowing Ten Hag has turned this club around and we are on an upward trajectory now. So to continue in the Europa and more importantly win silverware is a massive bonus too.

Ten Hag is United’s best signing since Rooney. And he will be even more important in my opinion.
