Anyone know if there's any truth to the Fonte rumours? 👍🏻.

Would not be a bad option, considering the limited choice in that position. Our need for an experienced, steady centre back can't be overstated.

Tbh I haven't paid much attention to him, does any one rate him? At least he would have the prem experience.

If you wanted a dependable experianced centre back you would have to go for Ashley Williams over fonte, so under rated in my opinion been solid for club and country for years now.

Fred the red, completely agree with you. I have no idea why Williams has been overlooked by all the "big" teams. Even more surprised Arsenal haven't done all to get him after all these years being linked with him and now Pers injured it would be the best choice for them, he's solid proven and I'm pretty sure he has a bit more pace than Mertesacker too! He is a very intelligent defender, he dominates his area and most importantly has a voice! A lot of things our own defence lacks and I personally think he's better then most of our CBs if not all.

{Ed001's Note - he has not been 'overlooked', he rejected moves to both Arsenal and Liverpool in the past. He was not ready to leave Swansea before now, he came up with them and took his role as captain seriously. However he is in his 30s now, so a big payday is much more tempting.}

Oh ok soo he rejected L'pool cheers for making my day ed01 😅😂 And fair play to him, Swansea are the biggest team in Wales and he's the captain of both, he did it his way soo why should he have moved. I still think he's better then most of our CBs and even being in his 30s I feel he could do a job wherever!
