So Fulham have sacked Rene and hired Magath.

Could we perhaps swallow our pride and ask him back as a coach/in an advisory capacity? Or would that show weakness?

He was asked to stay anyway but chose not to. Lots of good coaches see management as a natural progression. For some it pays off, others it doesn't. Rene joined a sinking ship in Fulham but I am sure he will be a successful manager. In the meantime, it would be great to have him back though.

Let's get something straight, Rene was offered a role and turned it down. I would love him back but people saying moyes would have to swallow his pride are wrong, it would be Rene who would have to admit he's better as a coach than a manager.

Moyes apparently offered him a job that was effectively a massive demotion.

I'm sure Rene said recently that he was asked to stay, but he declined the offer. It was a tv interview too, not something made up by the press. Straight from the horses mouth.

I feel for the guy. Both Anzhi and Fulham have screwed him over. As much as I'd love to see him return to the club I do not see it happening. Both he and we have far too much pride.
