Sydney, how can you say Suarez is our only world class player? Gerrard despite his age is clearly world class, have you seen his performances of late? Skrtel and Sakho are both world class defenders who would get into any premier league side and then there's Lucas who is immense.

When you look at it, you only have Rooney, RVP and Mata, the reason you're so far behind us now is because Ferguson has left and this is what happens when you don't have the refs in your back pocket.

In fairness to Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers is doing exactly what SAF did with us - made a brilliant team with average players. We had too many average players with one or two highlights of quality like De Gea and RVP - the same is happening with Liverpool. The right tactics combined with confidence and one or two world class highlights.

Pr, I agree but I would like to think that the gea and januzaj are not far off too.
But hands off to Liverpool and br, he's taken average players and turned them into potential champions, done with good team tactics, modern football, true team spirit. So credit where credit is due.
I've said since midway thru the season that people have been underestimating Liverpool.

The term world class is used far too loosely these days. The above post is a classic example. Gerrard probably was 6 years ago, but not now. But Skyturtle and Sakho? This is clearly a wind up from a gloating fan of a team who have won nothing yet.

To define world class would mean they would be picked in a world 11 unfortunately there isn't a player in the EPL that would get in the side inc Suarez, gerrard Rooney, aguero, ozil, RVP are all top players but never world class, Ronaldo, Messi and ibra all better than the forwards mentioned, xavi, iniesta, shwinstiger, rues, gogdugan, all better, then pique, alba, chellini, Ramos all better again. So stop getting carried away with your fantastic season. Good players but not world class and your find that out next season in the champions league!

"Skrtel and Sakho are world class defender's" - LMFAO. Seriously, PR, you are talking rollox mate. Skrtel is a good defender, as is Sakho; but to call them World Class is a joke.

Suarez is your only WC player ATM. Sterling has the potential to be WC, but that still remains to be seen. I have never thought Gerrard WC. He is a top player, but he couldn't lace Scholes boots, who has been the only WC English CM player in the past decade, IMO.

We will finish above your mob next season; of that I have no doubt. You don't have the financial muscle to remain at the top.

As for world class players the Prem has less than you think:
A fully fit RVP at United
Suarez at Liverpool
Hazard at Chelsea
and the reason why they will likely still win the league, Aguero, Silva and Toure at Citeh.

Plymouth, it's a bunch of decent players playing with confidence. You have one world-class player in Suarez, but to be fair when a team are playing well, fear free and enjoying themselves on the pitch, you don't need world-class players. The problem is when you have a team playing at their best and fear free, when you have a blip, it may be hard to recreate the same level. Suarez leaving, injuries to Sterling and/or Gerrard and you could go quickly from hero to zero. Look at us, we did it under Moyes. This is your best chance to win the league, you will not get a chance like this again for a while IMO. Everyone will improve a lot next season and you will need to juggle Europe too.

Maybe I went a bit OTT on Skrtel and Sakho but as I said they would get into any premier league side, Sakho was and is extremely highly rated within France, he will be a colossus player for Liverpool.

If Gerrard isn't world class now because of his age, then you're saying Scholes wasn't world class for the last 5 years of his career? Pirlo isn't world class? .

Haven't got the financial muscle to compete? we've competed with the two richest teams in the league all season on a minimal budget, if we win the league along with getting CL we will be in a much healthier financial state in the long term, add that to FSG's vision we're in safe hands.

It doesn't matter who you buy in the summer, if you stick with moyes you're not going to get anywhere, he isn't called dithering dave for no reason.

I've been ridiculed on this site for saying that Rodgers is the best manager in the EPL. It is now Liverpool's title to lose. If they win it will those who disagree still be hiding their heads in the sand?

It pains me to say it but with Moyes as our manager it looks like we have been left with a second rate and old fashioned thinker. May next season prove me wrong.

Plymouth red, you are embarrassing your self mate. Seriously. You haven't won anything yet; and I suspect you won't. You have had a great season and played some top football; but a little perspective wouldn't go a miss.

Next season, you will be in the champions league. That means that you will have to play three games a week. Your squad is no where near big enough to compete on all fronts; thus you will have to spend big. That means a total re-think of how you operate in the transfer market: you need to offer more wages and bigger fee's for top players'. That also means you will have to pay upfront, and not offer a piecemeal deal where the selling club gets the money in instalments, which is why you lose out on so many players' to bigger clubs, who can afford to offer more money and the money up front.

As for Steven Gerrard: I don't think he is world class, let-alone better than Scholes was. I would personally put Lampard in front of Gerrard. That is just my opinion of course.

Liverpool are still a massive club in terms of tradition etc; but you are not in the same league as us, Chelsea, City or Arsenal when it comes to finances. This is why I believe that next season, you will finish outside the top four. We are going to strengthen massively in the summer, as will Chelsea. City will sort their defence out; and I suspect Arsenal will buy a top striker and CM. That leaves your lot, who will have to bring in at least 4 top players' in the summer, which I doubt you will be able to pull off.

Enjoy it while you can Plymouth, because it might be another couple of decades before your in this position again.

Wavertreered there was me standing up for Liverpool and you abuse me and Samthered Champions League extra 20 million hello add that to the fact Liverpool have another 30-40 that's 3 top class players mainly a left back midfielder right back at 20 million a piece that's still enough to make liverpool challenge on Champions League and in Premier in terms of cups they will play players like Alberto Aspas Borini
