I think LvG may learn that there is a massive difference between being beaten by an average side and being well beaten by an average Liverpool side in the minds and hearts of Manchester United supporters.

Losing hurts, but losing to that lot hurts so much more.
And to think if it wasn't for Dave we would have been humilated. This is the competition LvG has said is a priority ahead of the league.

How can he get it so compeletly wrong. I get making tactical mistakes, it happens. Everyone gets out thought from time to time. But there was no passion, no drive, no desire.
How does he expect us to play against our biggest rivals. Klopp got it, he bigged the match up. This was the first european meeting of the two most successful English teams. The only thing they have over us is their european record, did he really think they weren't going to fight tooth and nail to maintain that.

I have been a supporter of keeping him until the end of the season. But I can't accept performances like that against Liverpool.

Fire him now, give Joyce the job until the summer and start working on a succession plan as soon as possible. The sooner we know who our next manager is, the sooner he can start planning for next season. With the Euro's there is already a complication in rebuilding over the summer. What we don't need is to exasperate that with no one knowing who will be managing us or what they are planning.

Shappy,

I am of the opinion that the club already know who the next manager is, we don't need to know that for the planning to be taking place already.

Well, apparently JM has said he is starting a new job in July, make what you want of that.

Surely if your gripe is with the passion or desire on the pitch. The players have to take their fair share of responsibility as well. For too long they've hidden behind the criticism of lvg.

For example varela rojo smalling and blind were getting pulled all over the shop. Schneiderlin provided next to no cover for the back four and mata (our supposed most creative player) didn't play a forward pass all night.

No matter who the next manager is there are too many players in our squad who are just happy to be there and not making a difference when it matters. They play well for one game and then take their foot off the gas for the next two games.

You don't need star players all over the pitch just look at Leicester but you do need good players in vital positions and fellaini at cm ruins everything look at the win percentage with and without him.

While Van Gaal has to shoulder some responsibility, I also think Woodward does too. The priorities at the club are clearly wrong. Profit and sponsorship seem to be the main priorities, keeping the dans happy is a very low priority.

Firstly I think Woodward should go back to being commercial director and should have nothing to do with the footballing side, however the Glazers are not football people or even sports people they are money men and making as my h o e as possible is their goal.

Yes success on the pitch is important to increase profits, but as li g as the team can increase its market share in the emerging markets, all that matters is a few marquee signings to keep the crowd interested. United have a history tourists will always be interested, the stadium will always be full maybe not with is true supporters who are being priced out of the game but with tourists.

The players do not seem interested any longer. Martial was simply awesome but now looks lost, how can this happen, yes he is young, but Van Gaal has knocked it out him, he will do the same to all the good young players.

Yesterday our midfield was packed with pplayers who can no lo get run 100 metres in a minute, never mind 10 seconds. They look out of shape both physically and tactically.

I do think after last night Van Gaal needs to go, to be hi Milo ate dime that should surely make it untenable, unfortunately unthinkable Giggs must also go. He looks lost on the bench he looks clueless, and seems to have lost his passion.

I see no point in either of them staying next season and no point in Woodward either. Should they go now?

I genuinely think damage is being done to the club's image and reputation, the longer this goes on the more damage will be done. It will take a monumental turn around mentally next season and the board level dithering has been going on since December. Giggs has to go as well and stop this emotional nonsense, it is too much for him. I agree with Shappy and have felt for a while that Joyce should be given the rest of the season. The club must act to prevent further damage.

The full backs were pulled all over the shop because van Gaal told them to man mark the wingers. All Liverpool had to do was get their wingers to drift inside and push their full backs higher up the pitch. This meant our full backs followed the wingers infield, meaning that our wingers were basically playing full back to cover their full backs. Not only did this completely nullify our counter attacking ability, it also directly led to situations like the Memphis penalty. Van Gaal knew how Liverpool wingers played, and still played right into their hands. The players have to except some blame, but the bottom line is that we have a piss poor manager who needs to go.

Well LVG and McLaran have lost the same amount of games since December 1st and he's just been given the chop, so there's hope guys.

There was a lot wrong tactically last night, wrong formation, wrong tactics, wrong player selection. Like I said, I can forgive that. But the thing that annoyed my most was the total lack of feeling from the players and the management.

When they scored we just slumped our shoulders. We just accepted defeat. There was no one firing up the players. On the bench LvG didn't even look annoyed, Giggs just sat there. Would Giggs have reacted like that 5 years ago out on the pitch?

It was the way the players and the managment just accepted a poor performance and a loss to Liverpool.

That is unforgivable. Sir Alex in the stands looked furious. Games against Liverpool are rarely won with superior quality, but with superior fight and passion. that's why we lost, we lost before we stepped out onto the pitch because the players were prepared to accept a loss against Liverpool.

That's because this squad has no identity Shappy, no feel, no guts. There's no players out there I associate with in terms of them being united players. I simply just don't care about them because there's nothing shown back, there's no 'cult hero' type players who play with personality, your Park Ji Sungs, who come out and give their all in these big games. Everyone looks petrified to show any character, they aren't a united team, they're just 11 players who've been thrown a ball and told to keep it.
