This might offend a few people, but here goes nothing.

We all agree that LVG had to go, is style of play was outdated, dull, boring, regressive, we can find as many adjectives you like. The point is, he had to go and all of us wanted him to go.

We wanted his head in December, then later in February and probably March as well. All of us hoped that one day when we woke up, we would read the papers and they would say that "LVG has been sacked. " It never happened. Top four became impossible, we wanted his head. We won the FA Cup but still, no one was happy.

So this is my problem, we all wanted him to go and now that he's gone we are crying about how the club treated the entire episode. According to me (and this is completely my opinion) I think it was fine. What do you want to do? Bring out the red carpet and give a bouquet and a nice thank you card and show him the door? Don't think that makes a difference. Anyway, I'm glad he's gone, and like most of us here, I'm not too sure about Mourinho. I'm still trying to understand the pros and cons of hiring this guy.

I think, that the timing of getting rid of LVG and getting Jose on board is fine. At least this way, we can sort out our transfer business and try and get the players that we need.

Anyway, don't mean to piss anyone off with this post. Just a thought I had.

Good post.

The club saved him from being sacked part way through the season and gave him every chance to make top 4 and gave him the Cup final as his final game in charge.

When he found out is up for queation and we will never really know.

I don't think anyones offended by the way things were handled.

But the situation speaks for itself, wed just won the fa cup and 5 mins later, news is leaked that mourinho is coming.

i don't think many have grievances with the decision but the timing, people have every right to voice discontent at that.

There's wanting him gone, and there's treating the guy with a bit of decency. He didn't deliberately set out to mess things up. He tried to get the club up off it's knees again, in a way he believed to be right. I didn't agree with that way, but I don't doubt his commitment to that goal. What happened to be just being decent with people?

This one is not as simple as you outline. Yes we all agreed he needed to go but dignity, respect, and class cost nothing, and we failed on all 3 counts.

I get how upset people have been but it feels like we rubbed his nose in it unnecessarily. People will ask what other options there were and I'm not party to who said what to whom but for the news to break straight after the final was poor.

We wanted him gone, but we don't have to be spiteful.

I agree with you Noucamp99 (apologies if I don't know your actual name) . I'm 100% sure that he wanted to make our club great again and even by signing the likes of Di Maria and Falcao.

I think people are being hypocrites. They boo him at the stadium, carry Mourinho scarves and when this guy is sacked, they say that it wasn't the right thing to do.

I saw the FA Cup final at a screening in Delhi, organised by the supporters and was shocked when they started cheering for Jose's name and booing LVG whenever he popped up on the screen.

That's the only thing that makes me scratch my head. No offense to anyone who feels otherwise.

Raghav, it's Stevie. And don't worry about those buffoon's who were booing or wearing Mourinho scarves while our own manager was still in a job. If you've ever seen a programme called The Jeremy Kyle Show, you'll understand where they come from.

I don't seem to understand the respect we are all talking about here with regards to the way he was sacked. LVG had all the signs before him to understand that his stay here wasn't working and that the club gave him the opportunity to resign on his own seeing the kind of hostility that was growing within and without the club was enough respect. The club also sacrificed our 4th place position when it was clear that with him in charge it will largely depend on luck yet allowed him, is that not too much respect? . Now he is fresh with an FA cup win, something that will add to his profile and a 5m pounds to go with and people say it was announced too soon? i consider it too late. It was long overdue. We gave him enough respect not to have sacked him after the West ham game and risk the FA cup which we won by luck.
