With all the criticism of Luke Shaw I was wondering what his best position is. By that I mean is he a LB who can get forward in a 442 or is his best position as a wing back who can track back in a 352.
Quality player no doubt, flawed attitude most have commented on. Just curious as to that would get the most out of him.

Apparently it is first position in the burger van queue.

Why are we so keen to keep him when it seems he can't be ars** to look after himself.
Best position? - somewhere else.

Surely if he were that good he'd be good in either position?

I can't stand him. Just get rid as he'll never change his attitude.

Another player I can't believe people are quitting on already (smalling, who was one of our best players in recent years) . Shaw clearly was working his way back from a long injury layoff, plus the shift in managers/ playing style clearly took him a while to get used to as well. I firmly believe that with a full preseason, and a chance to build a rapport with martial or whomever Jose uses on the left, he can be a potential world class lb again. I mean, he's still young, he showed glimpses down the stretch last season, and it's common for players to need a year to regain their best physical form after a long injury. If people want to say that Phil jones or darmian or blind need to move on, I get it. But those wanting Shaw and smalling, two bedrocks of our future defense until a year ago, to be sold, are remarkably shortsighted with an even shorter memory.
