I know we have "targets" but is anyone else worried about us not actually closing these deals. The Inter manager is being a tit and Chelsea are asking for silly money for Matic. Any Eds or someone "in the know" put my mind at ease I'd be grateful 👍🏻.

Harry, I really think there is more to come but the fundamental problem / worry to me is woodward. If, IF we do get perisic then he really needs his p45 as we will undoubtedly pay a lot more than we could have earlier. I have little faith in his negotiating players transfers, however he seems to excel with sponsorship deals. One of the best moves imo would be to take him out of transfer talks and appoint a n other.

We have a great squad and one of the most successful managers ever. The squad will be improved further across the next three windows. Be at ease. :)

Yes Harry, i'm so worried I couldn't sleep last night. It took me hours and hours thinking over and over about the targets slipping away.

NO!

Agree with you 100% cooky. He excels at making money through sponsorships and has signed us some good players. However some of our deals drag on and on and never materialise. BRFO I normally am but when Jose is looking as frustrated as he is saying hel take 1 more if that's all he can have makes me uneasy. I don't think it helps city and Chelsea chucking the 💰💰💰 around. I know you can't buy the title but we have been after Carricks replacement for years and I don't think any of the names being linked can do it. 😩 Wow I can work myself up.

Harry even SAF signed targets right up to the last minute (Berbatov) . Jose has told everyone the type of players he wants or has he . He is a bigger mind bender than SAF so don't be surprised if we sign Bale another striker and two CDM 's 😆😆.

I have been very critical of the Glazers in the past. I still firmly believe they were responsible for failing to match City and others, especially European teams, in competing for top players because they needed to improve the debt ratios. However, since SAF's retirement, no one can accuse them of not spending. It's not the fault of the owners or executive directors if the wrong players have been purchased. And if SAF was the reason Moyes was hired, then you can scarcely blame them for the initial poor choice in manager either. Nor can you really blame Woodward if the transfer targets on Mourinho's list are unattainable because the current club doesn't want to sell, the player wants to stay/ go somewhere else, or a transfer ban prevents a main target from arriving. And, finally, if our problem has been the scouting system or pipeline, then is Woodward the one responsible for it having fallen into disarray?

Shaw. Completely disagree. If you look at our "net" spend since Glazers took over, it isn't great. It isn't until last year that they spent big and that probably was included in mourinho's contract. We've bought two players this time, but we've lost zlatan, Rooney, schneiderlin, depay, schweinsteiger off the wage bill. So we need the club to replace these with top players.
It has been no secret that we've been chasing Perisic. We could have bought him for £45m 6 weeks ago. But we've been arguing the toss as we only want to spend £40m. Now it looks like a deal might be struck at £48m. Who do you think is responsible for losing £3m in less than 6 weeks? It is like he wants to play poker with other clubs but tgey can see right through him every time. The guy is not equipped to negotiate transfers.

SchMidfield
totally agree regarding perisic but tbh not a clue about the figures, but seem to recall the eds stating alower fee wouldve gotten the deal done earlier. I think we will be in the hunt right up to the line both buying and selling on and really believe that 1 0r 2 stated by JM could be actually 2 or 3.

Schmidfield. My point was that it's only since SAF retired that the Glazers have spent money, although we are still being outspent by City. Prior to that our spending was woeful for the reason given: the Glazers needed to reduce the club's debt ratios. So it looks like you actually agree with me. And how on earth do you know for sure that we could have had Perisic for £45m 6 weeks ago? You have absolutely no idea exactly what's going on with regard to transfers and the amounts offered.
