I know Herrera works harder than anyone on the pitch but I really have to question his effectiveness as the fulcrum between the back line and our attack. Matic does this superbly when he has a midfielder slightly more forward linking the backline to attacking midfield. Herrera takes the same pockets as Matic and we don’t have an out. Herrera and Matic statistically hasn’t yieldedgood results or performances but statistics can lie. Breaking up play all over the place is great but providing an out brings in our offensive players and that has looked so difficult of late. Herrera is exactly the same player in my opinion as last year: great passion energy drive commitment but is he providing the balance we need to play the football we have shown at times this year?
