Looks like United are only going to sign players they actually want as opposed to just anyone .
Looks like Toby and Maguire are not available.

Alternatively the pool of top players wanting to join us might be very limited. A lot of top clubs with money, not too sure how enticing joining Utd would be at the minute.

We must want fullbacks, RW and a CB. Plenty of options out there, even Felipe Anderson would have been better than another year of Mata on the right.

Maguire wasn't pulling up trees for Leicester, stood out in the World Cup on set-pieces, yet all of a sudden the club are bidding mega money for him. No way was he a target until the media circus around the World Cup, not good enough either. All smacks of clueless desperation to me. I'm disappointed and whilst it's good not to sign players last minute who weren't necessary, we are crying out for better players in many positions.

Beast mate, are you seriously telling me people don’t want to join us? If that’s the case they can sod off. All this doom and gloom is masking that we are the richest and one of the biggest names in world football. If people don’t want to join, it’s their loss.

We pay big wages people will want to join .

AJH do you really think when a foreign player states 'I always wanted to join the club I love' is because they always loved the club? Be realistic, players only ever joined united because they were guaranteed a big payday and guaranteed trophies and medals regardless of their performance.

Its about time people start to realise that the players are not making the big decisions right now and their agents are swaying for the money and united aren't the only team with the money anymore. Something people will need to come to terms with is that players don't automatically just chose united anymore.

Totally agree Seosamh. Most clubs are rich these days, and they don't feel the need to sell. Leicester with McGuire is a case in point. Few years ago, Leicester would've driven McGuire to United, but not any more I'm afraid.
So for us to secure best players, we have to give them good wages, but we also have to give them a chance at success, and a style of football that excites them. We also need to have a manager who can nurture and improve them. I don't see any of these at united at present.
