These feel like tough times but we have had worse, far worse. There are a lot of issues, the culture of the club set by the owners, who don't care if the roof leaks. Small thing some say but utterly symbolic of the shambles in the whole club, just a cash cow, rudderless, run by amateurs.
There is so much wrong, yet it's wrong on the pitch as well. Right now we have to circle the wagons, whilst making some changes. ETH has to be brave, re-find his tough hard stance. He will have to dispel the favouritism tag, he needs to find 11 who will fight together for Saturday. I watch Newcastle and wonder how they can be so together, work so hard for each other, yet don't have better players. It's a team game, that's the clue, ETH needs to drop Rashford and Bruno for a start, make sure players play in the right position. Amarabat isn't a left back, even though ETH played him there for a few games in Holland, it's that very thinking that has put ETH on the brink.
I don't think the club will sack him, they shouldn't, but what has happened is unacceptable to a big club, it cannot continue or I think the club will act. ETH has to make strong logical choices, stop appearing like it's happening to us and more that he has taken back control with his decisions. Lose to Brentford with anything less than blood and thunder and he could be in trouble no matter what we think.

We all see that amrabat is not a left back, but looks a good player we want in our midfield.
But who do we play at FB? Dalot is very good at LB. But do you really think Lindelof would have excelled at RB against Gala? I thought our CBs were poor, so maybe mcguire and varanne would have been just the same. But Lindelof would have been destroyed by Saha and their overlapping LB.
We all desperately want to see more balance in the team, I honestly think that if reguilon comes back in and we get that balance back we are not that far away after a poor start. I'm just not sure there is a better option for EtH that playing amrabat there until he is back.

As a Man. United fan, living in Newcastle, the two clubs are a million miles apart in fan expectations and it shows all the times.
Newcastle are building for the future, the fans know the likes of Dan Burn aren't winning leagues, but they are supporters through and through. Having a core group of decent, lifelong fans is far better than what Man. United have. overrated players on huge wages, like Rashford.
I'm struggle to put to words how depressing it is talking about United at the moment to all my friends who support Newcastle, we are a laughing stock!

Who would you play at LB redman?
I’m curious because you post things like this often, but never offer an alternative.
You are vocal in your stance against Bruno being captain also. Who would you choose as captain and on what grounds?
Varane? Too often injured
Casemiro? Too often injured or suspended
So who plays left back with Shaw, Malacia and Martinez injured, with Dalot having to play RB with AWB out.
And who would you choose for captain?

Newcastle are a well run club. Where they've brought in a manager that played a system everyone buys into. They don't have overpaid prima donnas. They also buy players that fit into a system the club want to play. Something that hasn't happened with us. More importantly there minimum requirement is giving 100% for the badge!

Vbl1- I have lived in the north east all my life and as a Man Utd fan can honestly say that more wannabes have jumped on the Newcastle bandwagon and that even the true supporters are stuck in the 1996 season along with a side of venom for Sunderland.
For years they would rather us lose than win themselves and although they enjoy relative success at this stage they still haven’t won anything since 1969
They deserved their victory last night and fair play they have a strong first team and management system atm but like many fans they can be fickle and bitter.

LB. Dalot but would have given the young lad Fernandez a chance if he hadn’t been loaned out. Perhaps play three central and go with wing backs, make a tactical change.
Who would you choose as captain and on what grounds? Take a step back to the decision to appoint Bruno, we know he is at best phlegmatic and argumentative, feigns injury. The problem was then compounded in summer, we have said so many times we need leaders on the pitch, yet when buying players didn’t seem to think about it. Actually, first we could choose a club captain, a respected player, I think Gary Neville had that, I would look at Jonny Evans for his experience. Football captain isn’t a big an issue as cricket, but you have to have someone who gives it all and has the right attitude. Left field but I would give it to Mason Mount, I think he captained Chelsea when younger as well, at least once, but no doubt someone can check. He has the enthusiasm and verve, wears 7. See how he goes and consider leadership when buying players in future. You can lead in so many ways but example would be vital.
