Well this whole Mata transfer has everyone up and talking about possible transfers in.

It seems to show that the Glazers are prepared to pay what is needed within reason to sign top players.

One thought I have had is whether finances were being restricted as they didn't want Sir Alex to spend big on a player only to retire and the new manager not want that player.

But since Moyes has taken over we have spent 27m on Fellaini and have had a 37m bid accepted for Mata. that's 64m on two players.

It has also allowed us to start dreaming, like with Vidal.

If we could get Vidal and maybe Alex Sandro in January along with Mata then that would be half the work done before the summer.

Then we would just need a CB another midfielder and another attacking player in the summer to really turn the squad around.

Personally i'd like to see Schar, Reus and Koke in the summer. Maybe use Kagawa as bait for Reus and Hernandez as Bait for Koke.

I'd love to see a line up of DDG, Rafael, Evans, Schar, A.Sandro, Vidal, Koke, Mata, Rooney, Reus, RvP

That could win everything, even with Moyes as manager. lol

If januzaj was playing in any other league at his age then we'd sign him - he is a first choice player for us. They don't come around often! He's in the starting 11 mostly and even more so now he's been thrown in!. Out of interest to fellow posters. What do you value him at? Obviously value is what a clubs willing to pay etc but ignore that as I'd like opinions? Also other fans - would you love to have him (honestly)

Wouldn't be buying Schar when we have Smalling and Jones who are good young centre halves . I'd rather see an experienced centre half come in

3.) 24 Jan 2014
Swap Evans for Jones and that would be an excellent team.

4.) 24 Jan 2014
Jones is much better than Evans and I would like to see more than just one English lad in my MU side.

5.) 24 Jan 2014
As good as Reus is, I'd much rather see Januzaj stay in the team.

Where's Adnan?

7.) 24 Jan 2014
Januzaj will be in and around the first team but if we had a stronger squad and first team then he wouldn't be getting as many games as he is currently getting.

I'd like a more experianced centre back but there is a lack of options, that's why I prefer Schar, he will be a great CB. Many have mentioned Mangala but I feel Schar will be just as good but would cost far less at this present time.

Thats why i've put Evans in the first team ahead of Jones as his experiance will be vital if we are to bring in a younger CB.

I too would like to see Sandro as our left back but guess what a friend ( Aberdeen supporter but we don't hold that against him and give him a constant supply of sheep) who watches German football suggested Bastian Oczipka. So I did a search and Shappy is rating him a year ago.

I'm not sure we need 2 CM Fletcher is playing very well. Carrick getting older and injury prone slow as he is could do well alongside Vidal. Fellaini (yeuch spit) we are going to play and he deserves a chance. Cleverley even would benefit with playing alongside Vidal. I get the impression Moyes sees Jones as CM too and though I have argued, against it in the past, I think he is right.

I can't say I know Schar but Mangala or Kondogbia for me. Reus or Griezmann and we are set.

So Sandro, Vidal (please I'll be good lol), Mangala or Kondogbia and Reus or Griezmann along with Mata, our best player, not much to ask for surely.

Syd, Adnan would be rotated around with the front four. It's not settled whether Rooney will stay or not, if he moves on then i'd move Mata in field and play Adnan on the right. But even if Rooney stays then there will be games that RvP or Rooney will be rested for and the same for Reus and Mata in which case Januzaj will play then.

The only reason he has played so much this season is the lack of quality in the squad.

But we shouldn't be relying on an 18yo and we will need to take the pressure off.

I'd also expect to see Nani, Kagawa, Hernandez, Young and maybe Valencia leave between now and the start of next season. if that is the case then Januzaj Lingard Welbeck and Zaha will be our only back up options, I would put Januzaj well above the other three so he'll get plenty of playing time.

IMO we should stop differentiating between squad players and first teamers.

When Utd have been at their best Fergie regularly rotated the team but what made it work is that the players coming into the team were just as good as the players which were rested.

We should be aiming for a small squad of players, none of which will weaken the team if they play. Keeping the Cleverleys and Valencias is pointless because they are second rate.

A successful Utd team will be playing about 60 games a season. Two world class players in each position would get 30 games a piece and that's if they both stay free of injury.

Of course, I'm over simplifying the reality of the situation but i'm sure you get my drift.

Grund, Its true I do rate Bastian Oczipka. I think he could be a very good left back for a top half EPL team. But at the time I put his name forward there was a real lack of world class or potentially world class options available. But now Alex Sandro could be available, as could Fabio Coentrao or Ricardo Rodriguez or even Luis Filipe all are current better options than Bastian Oczipka so that's why he has dropped off my radar.

Just to throw one name yet to be mentioned and i'm supprised is nick powell!
