If you ask Everton fans if they would want Moyes back instead of Martinez, the answer would be a resounding 'NO'.

That speaks volumes.

Danny

It is clearly blind faith. The only reason some are sticking with him is because Fergie told them too.

3.) 26 Mar 2014
Danny got to agree with you there I have tried for months but I give up after the fulham game completely I see nothing.

Sometimes in life you either have that extra something special to make it at the highest level or you don't and sadly I don't think Moyes has or ever will have what it takes to take us where we need to be

Danny

I have gone the other way, I was ambivalent at the start adopting a wait and see attitude. However with every game, every press conference, every utterance my stance has hardened. Out of his depth, projecting negativity, simply. It right for such a big club. I look forward to seeing someone manage to posts a positive response to your question.

5.) 26 Mar 2014
Sheesh *you and I*

&

*simply not right*

Danny it matters not what we think, the fact is he WILL be given time and the summer to build his own first 11. Many will say he doesn't deserve it, others will say he does, but the fact is he is here and will be until at least summer 2015. If by then it is still as poor, he will be gone and possibly replaced by Guardiola who I think has a 2 year contract at Bayern and will have won everything there by then.

7.) 26 Mar 2014
Could be a 3 year contract, so might not be Guardiola :-)

8.) 26 Mar 2014
Great question I asked the same question a few games ago and got no answers from the he needs more time brigade, that's crap, heard a great quote on the radio" giving Moyes mata is like giving your gran a smart phone"
We give him more money and he'll buy a cb to pay at lb and cm to play on the wing, like kags and mata.

9.) 26 Mar 2014
I think it's a bit disingenuous to say that the fans' opinion doesn't matter, the club is obviously worried about the fans publicly turning against the manager and if this were to happen in a major way it could impact upon any decision about Moyes.

Regardless, I didn't ask about whether or not we're stuck with Moyes. I asked those who think that Moyes should (not will) be given time, why the have confidence in his ability to get the club back challenging for titles.

10.) 26 Mar 2014
No intention to stick the knife in but Guardiola has had Barcelona and now Bayern - why the hell would he come to Manchester United - especially to a team that is need of a total re-build

11.) 26 Mar 2014
Puzzled, Guardiola will want a challenge at some point in his career. He can't keep inheriting the worlds best team.

We can all get worked up on here, wanting Moyes out but in the real world, the Glazers will do what they want, that is all I am saying. Asking a question like that just means that anyone who has any point in defence of Moyes will be shot down by a dozen irate posters, so it is pointless as no one will really bother as it is a waste of their life even typing the reply.

We need to accept he will get some time and if he is still fails this time next year then he will be gone. We can get all worked up as much as we like but it won't change that fact.

12.) 26 Mar 2014
There are plenty of people on here who have posted numerous defences of Moyes: that he inherited a poor squad, that he's been unlucky with injuries, that it was always going to be difficult replacing SAF, and so on. And there is always a few people who ask everyone to give Moyes credit whenever we win. They aren't afraid of incurring the wrath of irate posters or wasting their lives typing then, so I can't see why it would be an issue now.

What I suspect is that it is easier to defend Moyes, and dismiss any discussion on his future moot, than it is to point to why he should be given time.

I do worry that he will be given more and more time (or should that be rope?) because nobody at the club is strong enough to stand up to SAF and tell him he made a mistake (and the Glazers would be loath to fork out for his compensation package). All this, however, does not disguise the fact that even those calling for the man to be given time struggle to make a positive case for him remaining manager.

Because it takes more than 2 signing and 8 months to change a team that is ageing and has been run and set up a certain way for 26 years.

You struggle to grasp the concept or the magnitude of the change and looking for instant results then it is difficult to try and explain.

In a corporate environment it generally common knowledge that major change to be effective, you are looking 2 to 3 years before you see results coming through that validate the desired changes have taken place. I don't know about the football world but assume in our case 8 months is nowhere being enough.
