My united team formation if we can get my two targets.

Exactly the 11 I'd like to see too, Syd. Although I wouldn't want Shaw and Valencia that far forward.

Yeah I think that's more or less the team most people on here are wanting to see. Maybe ideally a RWB as well but that's a little greedy. I'd love to see Vidal and Hummels brought in but I'm not holding my breath for either.

I think we would challenge anyone with that team, but it would need a season to gel IMO. I am not holding my breath for Hummels & Vidal, but I do believe they are the best possible candidates for each position.

Perfect line up! I honestly believe Vidal will happen, but not sure Hummels will. Without European football this season and assuming we do get vidal, do people think we will keep hold of the likes of Carrick?

I'm not convinced by Valencia defensively. Rafael has my vote. Wouldn't mind Cuadrado.

Sydney where are Strootman and Reus in your line up. I think come next season we will play 4-3-3 and I would think those 2 would enable us to play that formation with more balance and whilst I think Strootman will be jan or next summer, I would go for Reus now

Oxred - Going on the assumption that we're talking a 4-3-3 with wingers (I'm basing this on you suggesting that we sign Reus, who predominantly plays on the wings) - I'm curious as to where Mata and Rooney will play?

If we signed Strootman and Vidal I would assume that they would make up the midfield 3 with Herrara? Reus would be one of the two wingers and RVP would probably be up top (either him or Rooney - unless you want us to sign more players who wouldn't fit in our starting 11).

That leaves no space for our record signing or our top earner (he's also our current top goalscorer and provider of assists, the most experienced player in our squad and the most valuable in terms of commercial revenue. I'd be surprised if he's not the captain of the club and England in a month or two as well).

I very much doubt that's what the club have in mind. LVG knows that our squad is incredibly unbalanced and will play a formation that suits that.

Oxred, LvG has made it abundantly clear that come next season, we will be playing a 343. The players are spending the rest of their preseason trying to get it right for next season. We are playing with three at the back and no wingers.

Batigol, I think Adnan will rotate with Mata. Wilson & Welbeck hopefully will rotate with Rooney & Van Persie.
