Angel Di Maria - We are made to believe he hasn't adapted to the Premier League this year, many media outlets have reported that due to his bad season we would want to offload him.

Yet there he is, 2nd in the assists table above Sanchez, Cazorla, Hazard, Henderson & Sterling. All players playing similar positions. (CM/Wing).

I firmly believe he is class and we should be playing him vs City.

No disrespect to Young of course who has worked his sock off and is twice if not three times the player he was last season.

Di Maria may have had some poor games but I genuinely think some of the things he has done are class. I know that his rumoured pass completion is rather low but the chances he creates and assists he makes are sublime. I believe that next season he will be on the team sheet every week and people of his ability are needed. It's just not always been so smooth for him so far.

Young should start as he's better defensively and works harder. Di Maria loses possession too easily but is a good bench option to either kill it off ir if were chasing.

He leaves us exploited constantly and needs to do more defensively to start regularly.

JMB that is true and we know that he is capable of that because he did that very well in his last season for Madrid. Infact he was one of the best players in that team while playing that role.

It's the price tag which makes him people expect to much from him every game. Anyone can have a bad game.

We haven't a seen him beat a player with skill or pace. He's been very easy to shove off the ball. Big disappointment at the moment. However, we all know he has the skill and the heart to do extremely well for us. I think this season is one of adapting to the PL. Next season will be the one to judge him

Stats can be misused. There is no doubt that Di Maria is capable of moments of brilliance, but that's simply not enough. He has not adapted to the EPL in general or United's style of play in particular. (In this respect, it's taken the whole team 30 games to work out what that is, so he can surely be forgiven to some extent).

He will need to get tougher, not concede possession so cheaply, bolster his defensive contribtion, improve his corner taking, look up and read his teammates runs better, and try to develop his right foot more. Assuming we make it to the Champions League, I expect him to be an extremely valuable player next year.

Agreed no midfield he should be judged on next year, at times I have been disappointed but in fairness to him, a massive fee on his head, a new team, league and country to get used to and he has managed 10assists in his first year so far, I believe he will settle down towards the end of this season and kick on next year with a full pre season behind him.
