I have a feeling that either Mata or Herrera will leave before the end of the window and as much as I like both immensely I hope its Mata.
Herrera just offers a bit more. Both seem to be genuinely nice lads and its a shame but truth be told they are to good to be bench players.
LVG obviously wants Schweinsteiger in there, as he said so last night, and Schneiderlin is going to be the other. Januzaj, Carrick, Memphis, PEDRO, Young, all playing for the same sort of positions.

Its a pity, but something has to give I suppose.

Is that Mata who has started every game so far in pre season and in the league?

It is a SQUAD game, we don't just have 11 players and sell the rest.

I wouldn't want Mata to leave either but he would seem the more likely to leave.

Could be in the shop window, hence why he is getting the games (stranger things have happened). He doesn't contribute enough for me, he stifles our play and would suit a team in Europe, especially as LVG doesn't want him in the hole. There was a lot of talk about Valencia being in for him, maybe when the Otamendi deal happens, (depending on what they owe for Negredo)?

GDS2 yes that Mata, but we know LVG wants pace which Mata doesn't have, and can you see him being content on the bench. Although saying that, since I wrote that post Pedro has signed for Chelsea so its all irrelevant anyway :)
