BAILLY was immense last night and I hope he gets to play instead of Maguire next game.

Bailly and Varane could really work but I am just scared he will get injured again.

Unlikely with BOTH Lindelof and Varane injury doubts. What would you expect Bailly playing with Mengi and Jones in a back three?

I think he should have the captaincy taken off him at least, he didn't deserve it in the first place and hasn’t demonstrated any leadership qualities anyway.

CR7 should be given the captaincy as he's currently carrying us.

And his brain out of polystyrene. Pure reaction defender, great at getting back and putting in a last ditch tackle or reacting to a situation. But absolutely no idea why he was in the wrong place to begin with. No sense of where he should be, no reading of the game.

Take Atalanta's second goal last night, he pushed up but was ball watching and lost sight of his man. Zapata was then able to make a blind side run behind him into the acres of space he left.

You don't step up when there is an unmarked runner, if you get it wrong then they are clean through. But looking at Bailly he wasn't even aware of Zapata when he stepped up.

Maguire might have the armband but Bruno has been out defacto leader ever since he signed. He carried us on his back and pushed everyone else.

A lot get made about Ronaldo carrying us since he signed. He has 9 goals and 1 assist across all games for us.

Yet in that same time period Bruno has 4 goals and 7 assists. Meaning he has had a direct hand in 1 goal more than Ronaldo. While Bruno has directly responsible for 4 of Ronaldo's goals by providing the assists.

While Ronaldo might be taking the headlines Bruno is very much still as vital a player to us as he was before Ronaldo's arrival.

Totally disagree with that one, Shappy. Bailly deliberately stepped up to draw Zapata offside. He knew exactly where he was. It was Maguire who was sleeping, holding him onside, and Maguire and Maguire alone who is to blame for the goal.

Zidaniel, you never step up to an on running player. If you get it wrong then your weight is shifted the wrong way and the player has the run on you. You push up to a player who is standing still or moving slowly.
