The rest of this season is about setting the table for the new manager. If we have good cup runs and finish 4th it will be a big bonus, but, if we have learnt anything from the last 10 years it's that short-termism is the wrong approach. We need to rebuild the structure first. That means getting shot of quite a number of players and only bringing in new ones if they serve a longer term purpose. For this reason I'm not at all surprised we signed no one in this window. We should have enough players to compete decently in all our remaining competitions if they play up to their potential. In this respect.

I'm sorry Jesse didn't get his loan deal but let's get something straight. He is still under contract to United and being paid very well for it. If the club decided to keep him so be it. People will have to endure a lot worse than play out the remaining 4-5 months of the season for their boyhood club.

Let’s get things straight because there’s so many people on this forum that think they know how to run a football club and what’s going on behind the scenes.

Maybe lingard did want to go but ultimately he’s signed a contract getting paid bloody well for it and at worst has to sit on a bench for 6 months or whatever it is till the end of the season.

We’ve let players go and with Greenwood doing what he’s done it doesn’t take a genius to see that the club had to go back on their word.

Everyone expects miracles in the short time RR has been in charge and still complaining.

Now more than ever the players that are wearing the shirts need our support not utter venom like some people here post.

Lingard was happy to run down his 100k pw contract and he ran the risk of not playing. Not the best strategy in a World Cup year. let's not forget he did score us an FA Cup winner but on balance we paid a hell of a lot for that. He like Pogba and anyone else who doesn't want to commit to United are very happy to leave.

Great thread chaps totally agree, Lingard needs to shut his mouth and his brother and get his head down and do the job he was happy to get paid ridiculous amounts for!
I don’t believe it’s been a bad window at all, no panicking, trimming squad and saving on wages, a few youngsters will be involved for rest of season it sounds like and in the summer we’re going to finally see some players on huge contracts leave ( although financially it’s disastrous) for the club for us as fans we will finally begin to see a squad overhaul!
I’m looking forward to it, I like and trust RR and hope he’ll put us on the right track!
