So utterly shocked was I when Garnacho's shot went in that I threw my computer to the floor. Now if only he can start putting in a few of the easier chances. Two similar moves, with passes by Bruno to Martial for a penalty and a goal. Three goals for attackers. a pretty remarkable day. Of course there was that period up until half time where we were lucky not to concede. Mainoo's brilliant clearance aside, it was more down to poor shooting than great defensive skills. It very much felt that the pattern of being overwhelmed in midfield was repeating itself. Rashford remains a disappointment. It's astonishing how often he gives the ball away.

Great to have Shaw back. We have missed him maybe more than any other player. We also need to hand it to Maguire who really has stepped up to the plate. It's a good job we didn't let him go. I I have been guilty of criticizing him, but in the EPL it's been 5 wins out of 6 with him at the heart of the defense, and 3 clean sheets in a row. Can't say fairer than that.

Perhaps the biggest change of fortune today was a VAR decision that quite correctly got decided in our favour. That second goal sealed the win.

same here I was a bit stunned as it was just a freak thing and still can't believe he did that given how far out he was even attempting it.

I think that goal was literally the first stunning Utd goal I can remember for years. Can't remember the last time I got off my seat watching Utd other than to hurl abuse at the screen. A wonder goal, a Rashy goal and a Martial goal. All in short supply recently. A great result although maybe flattered us a tad.

It was perceived that he would be public enemy no.1 at each and every ground he played it, and maybe from a portion of the Utd home crowd too, and that we could do without another circus. Seems weak to backtrack based on one wonder goal.
But, as I said at the time, he's exactly the player we could use, and if he's innocent then of course he should be able to play for us. But we know exactly how things are, there'll be a a media backlash, his face will be plastered everywhere and he'll be public enemy number one, whether because he's a Utd player, or because his own fans don't want to be associated with him.
So again, I'd love to see it, but I don't.

I was one who felt that we should take Greenwood back, but I don't want to re-litigate that issue. Suffice it to say, he's played 10x or so and scored 2 goals, one a magnificent strike. We all know he's capable of scoring great goals, but there's so much more to being effective at the top levels of the EPL week in week out than the capacity to score a blinder every now and then.

Shawthing, he scored more than two and does have some assists as well. And Getafe isn't one of the strongest teams either. He is doing quite well.

Spenno, so what? After half a season, the crowd will get bored of it, like they did with Zouma and many other players.

I do believe if he has a great season, a lot of the fans will change their opinion.

Well I'm on board with all that Trololo, an on-form Greenwood walks into the side and gives much-needed options up front. Will be interesting to see what happens, and whether Utd have simply always had the opinion that they would put him aside for a while and readdress another time.
