If we are desperate for ander Herrera why don't we skip the medical? Yes it's a risk but as wee all know Desperate times call for desperate measures! I'm sure a deal can be done without a medical?

The club would never get the required insurance cover for the player. Imagine if we had rushed through the Van Nistelrooy transfer 1st time roumd just to get the deal done quickly.

I don't think a deal can be done without a medical or it invalidates the clubs insurance on the player. All clubs have insurance to cover the medical expenses and the wages of a player while out injuried. If he has never passed a medical at the club then his insurance is invalid and in the case of an injury could lead to huge costs to the club.

Thats why Aly Cissokho never signed for AC Milan, he didn't fail his medical. His medical picked up on a underlying issue with the teeth in his jaw. This could lead to complications further down the line. This ment that AC Milan wouldn't be covered if he suffered any issues that could be attributed to this issue. So Milan pulled the plug on the deal.

I don't think you can as then the player can not be insured etc, I am not sure of the rules but I think a medical is a must.

It could be - but what happens if he has an underlying health problem? We'd not be able to get insurance for him without him having passed a medical and were such a condition to be present and cause him to have to retire we would be out of pocket by E36m.

I'm hearing that the money has been paid and imagine a medical has either been done or arranged in Spain if this is the case!
