Assuming the reports are true that we value Pedro at far less than £22m, why on earth are we even interested?

Say £15m is close to what we want to pay, we value ADM at 4X that, Zaha the same etc? It just makes no sense for us to be interested in a player we don't value highly. I appreciate there are "tactics" to negotiations, but penny pinching so close to the start of a very important period for the club seems a bit pointless, surely the more time the player has training with the team the better. Our priorities seem all muddled at the minute.

It may be all rubbish, but we clearly need a winger as well as a GK, CB and striker - so much for getting things done early - our season won't start until mid September again at this rate which may already be too late and then the new players need this "3 months" to learn the P word! Deja vu.

Nothing against Pedro as a squad player but if we really want to take the CL crown from Barca in the coming years shouldn't we be looking to sign one of their more premium forwards or an attacking player cut from that cloth? We 'apparently' have an unlimited budget don't we?
