Oh sorry ed I didn't realise that banter involved brown nosing or buttering opposing fans up.

They deluded themselves that things would get better under Moyes, then better under LVG and now because they have the speshul one they have a belief that the performance tonight against some woeful European minnows is a step forward.

The Southampton game is more exciting. They need to suck up what the gave in spades when they were winning things and the post below sums the majority of them up that when they start winning they can't wait to ram it down people's throats again.

GDS2 loves to give every one his opinion as there's and is a perfect example of why posters give them a little grief. It's not his fault but for him it's difficult to see the wood for the trees.

MW. When did we shove it down your throat? I think this is a myth. When United win, the whole of the non United fans are disappointed and assume we'll shove it. But the fact is when we win, we don't care what the rest are doing. It is fans from London who have the big chip on their shoulder because they can't stand being second best and you think you're superior in every way.
We're United and we'll do what we want remember.

To be fair I did say that the other day but I mean to the people who have been giving it large every time we lose. I've had texts off opposition fans after every game we haven't won this season, not heard from them tonight and not said a word to them, but football is about 'bragging rights'.

I find if people hate united winning so much then I love us winning to shove it down their throats, that's all my comment meant, sometimes you don't need to say a word, they hate united winning that much there is no need.

I believe Marcellus has some valid points. Not all may agree with him which is fine but he has taken the time to post and back up his opinions constructively.

As a Utd fan I agree with some of what he says and it is always a good insight getting feedback from fans at the top end of the league to see how they feel what we are doing wrong and how we should improve to reach their level.

Agreed GDS. not sure where some of these London fans get their ideas from. I happen to like Spurs as a team and my best friend is a Spurs fan. I've always complimented him on the way they play. But he can't bring himself to say a good word about our team even when we play well.
It seems they think we're arrogant but the truth is fans from London clubs are the arrogant ones. They truly believe they're superior. I honestly think we have an amazing football community in the north west and they really hate it as they're jealous of that. The fact between us and City we have the two richest clubs in the land if not the world, does not go down well with them.
The press is mostly controlled by Fleet Street and they're just as bad. They really believe in their own bullshit.
Still, that's their problem. We have to concentrate on our team, our own club, our own fans. Because I tell you what, they'll all love to be fans of the biggest and best club in the world, United. But they can't, which is brilliant and makes me laugh at their frustration.
You can reason with reasonable people but don't waste time reasoning with blinkered people.

That's fine if you want to believe some of his stuff go ahead, but he fact of the matter is young Marcellus hasn't been seen or heard on this page since Chelsea won the league, he didn't join in with anything last season or congratulate us on winning the cup when his team did nothing, so he is only back on here now to brag and do the one thing he said he hates because Chelsea are top of the league with 24 games to go. If it all crashes around him we won't see him for dust.

We disagree enough with each other without fans of other teams coming on here with their biased bile just trying to get a reaction, as someone said further up, that's what a troll does.

GDS2 it is a posters prerogative to come on the site when he wants. You cannot force someone to come on. To be honest with how boring United were last year if I wasn't a United fan I would have no interest watching them let alone chat about them on a forum.

I believe it is important to get different perspectives from a larger demographic than just United fans. Unlike some others I have zero interest in 'shoving it down rival fans throats' but I am open to healthy educated debate. Perhaps that can be the way forward.
