Reports today stating fellaini has rejected offers to extend contrqct with us.

Dont normally buy in to the rags news but i wreckon this is probably true.

1.) 15 Nov 2017 14:51:53
why are we trying to get him to extend? he's not good enough for one and he doesn't want to be here for two. few good performances in a red shirt do not mean he's united quality

get rid in jan and bring in goretzka.

2.) 15 Nov 2017 15:29:21
Disagree completely redwhiskey.

Fellaini is very good for the position/ role he plays which is an impact sub and he's proven this time after time especially under jose.

But if he wants to start week in week out then yes, he will have to move on.

3.) 15 Nov 2017 16:03:02
He is 29 he wants to start regularly. It's his last big opportunity to negotiate a last big contract on his terms.
Does he want to be a impact sub here and be a cover player or does he want to get the same or more money at a lesser club or a big club in a lesser league.
He is a very good pro and has shown great attitude and professionalism during his time here and yes he does possess obvious and different attributes to other players but he is not my cup of tea. I respect him as a man and as a professional and jose rates him so i'm indifferent. If the manager wants him In the squad for next season then fine but if the player doesn't want to be here and wants to try something else I won't be disappointed.
Put yourself in his shoes 20 starts and 30 bench appearances at united is the best he can hope for and that's before united sign another midfielder in the summer. He knows he can't command a regular starting position so i would admire him if he chooses to move to Turkey to play weekly and this is his last chance to do that and command huge wages if he goes on a free or nominal fee.

4.) 15 Nov 2017 17:48:59
get real zidane. he was a poor buy and is nothing more than a pump it up option. anti football in my eyes. he is professional and tries hard but that is it. he papers over the cracks with the odd goal. if mourinho rated him so highly he'd be starting. the football were playing at the min is dross enough before bringing that overpaid hairy git on. let him leave for whatever we can get. he's not the answer for anything. if fellaini is the best we can hope for in terms of impact then its no wonder we're a laughing stock at the moment.

5.) 15 Nov 2017 18:48:05
He is no where near United quality, he gives so many fouls away when brought on to impact a game which always seems to break up our play. Personally would have sold a while ago but def take whatever we can get in jan.

6.) 15 Nov 2017 19:04:07
Twenty u need to look at the stats for fellaini and his fouls/ bookings for us over the last 2-3 years.

Sorry gents but IMO he is a positive for UTD if he's happy o be a sub and he obviously isn't happy with that.

7.) 15 Nov 2017 19:42:51
It says it all when we send him on to try and win a game by just lumping it forward for his elbows to give away a foul, I don’t need to look at stats I’ve witnessed with my own eyes on far to many occasions. It was a panic buy, one in which we actually ended up paying more than if we bought him sooner. If we really wanted to him we would have paid the cheaper price a month prior. That move made us look a bit stupid. Do you really think He would get in the Chelsea line up? City? Spurs? No! It was a big mistake from day one.

8.) 15 Nov 2017 19:48:21
Lol whiskey I've been listening how crap fellaini is for ages yet one of the most successful managers in the history of the game loves him, he walks into arguably the most talented individual team in Belgium and gives nothing less than 100 % everytime he puts a united shirt on and has delivered in some very nervy/ important moments for us .

What does this guy along with endless others have to do to be given a little respect from our "fans"? .

9.) 15 Nov 2017 20:00:03
Whiskey u have your opinion and i have mine (the stats on elbows and bookings are fact though) .

There are more than a few people on this site who see the value in him and there are some who dont. As i have said, IMO i would like him to stay.

10.) 15 Nov 2017 20:01:38
DEANo does this most successful manager really rate him? Someone you throw on to try and scrape a result? That’s not rating someone! If I rate someone I play him week in week out a certain starter. Free up the wage bill let him go and get someone better in. I would give 100% if I played for United doesn’t mean I deserve to be at the club.

11.) 15 Nov 2017 20:10:01
Deano - We are seriously low on combative midfielders. Jose was never going to let him go with no time to bring in alternatives. Saying Jose loves him is a bit OTT, he is needed. It's that simple. I'd be very surprised if Jose was managing PSG or anyone for that matter and he gave Fellaini a call. We need Fellaini right now, it that simple.

12.) 15 Nov 2017 21:57:07
In some games you need the physical player to get stuck in.
It's not all about fancy players.
Fellani is good for us in both boxes for set pieces and he as a bit of heart.

13.) 15 Nov 2017 22:44:36
Mourinho clearly rates him as a squad player and I'm fairly sure he probably is better placed to make the call than any of us.

14.) 15 Nov 2017 23:18:25
Exactly leahy and RW.

15.) 15 Nov 2017 23:42:59
Mourinho likes Fellaini as he does what he is told. Is Red Whiskey, Maze? Or a Liverpool supporter? If he mentions, Park the bus, Maureen or Hoofball, then we will know.

16.) 16 Nov 2017 00:04:58
🤣🤣 MAZE has been MIA for a while now even afyer some questionable performances.

17.) 16 Nov 2017 13:56:31
I am a united fan just don't see the point in keeping a player who doesn't wanna be here, is nowhere near good enough and was a terrible buy. i'm entitled to an opinion.

18.) 18 Nov 2017 06:44:38
Some said over here that in some games you need the physical player to get stuck in. I think you have enough physicality in your squad to not be depending on Fellaini :D Arguably the most physical squad in the league.

31 Aug 2017 21:41:10
Mahrez to chelski so willian to utd. would be a good move for us IMO.

08 Jul 2017 13:47:56
Dier is now our new 'latest link'

Is he what we need? And is it even a possibility?

1.) 08 Jul 2017 14:22:38
I reckon Levy won't let it happen or he will prove to be really really not worthy of the transfer fees that we might want to pay for him.

2.) 08 Jul 2017 15:47:12
Won't be surprised to read that I don't rate Dier highly and wouldn't sign him. Poor use of the ball, switches off a lot and is another of those that would bring little to the table that TFM couldn't bring.

We need somebody comfortable on the ball imo, I'd play with Herrera deep and spend the money on Ramsey who will get goals, run all day, link midfield to attack brilliantly and possibly may be available for similar money after a poor season last year (guessing) . I know everyone will think this is stupid so no need to hammer me for that opinion.

Or I'd double up and go for Verrati, Pjanic or Vidal to actually bring some proven world class talent to the team!

3.) 08 Jul 2017 16:23:55
Actually i agree beast.

4.) 08 Jul 2017 16:24:03
Got to hammer you for suggesting injured all the time Ramsey.

5.) 08 Jul 2017 17:04:08
Beast none of those worldclass talents are cdm's.

6.) 08 Jul 2017 17:18:55
As a spurs fan it's interesting to read your thoughts on dier. Completely way off is probably the kindest thing to say, if you were to chat with a proper fan he'd tell you just as I would. He's our lynch pin. He's better than wanyama, better passer of the ball, a better tackler and reads the game better. Diers downfall is his versatility. He's covered both centre backs, covered walker at times, played as a three at the back and that was just last season, the season before when he played solely as a cdm he was immense! He is in fact a brilliant cdm. He allows dembele to drive forward more. We know he won't be going anywhere in the foreseeable future. But you guys have got it completely wrong about dier.

7.) 08 Jul 2017 18:46:09
Herrera is not suited to the deep role no chance.

8.) 08 Jul 2017 18:55:48
Sorry Beast, but that would be a chronic waste of Herrera. He offers everything Ramsey does in that role (well, fewer goals maybe but creates more chances too) and still wins the ball a lot.

Herrera as cdm is a useful option, but we really should be looking for a specialist there too free Herrera up.

An older cdm, who can hold the position for 2-3 years as TFM matures in an understudy role would be perfect IMO.

9.) 08 Jul 2017 20:48:41
Herrera has played the deep role very well this year.
These days you need a play maker in that role imo Carrick has been excellent there over the years.

10.) 08 Jul 2017 20:52:18
An older cdm. someone who knows the league, and would allow pogba and Herrera to play. if only someone like that was on our radar. Still, if they were, they'd probably be dismissed as a Chelsea reject anyway.

11.) 08 Jul 2017 21:59:27
Herrara is a fantastic player but is entering the final year of his contract. Would be delighted to see that sorted asap!

12.) 08 Jul 2017 22:26:43
Agree with beast, don't rate hi at all and don't want him. he is 5 yards sideway passer and levy and keep him. the weakest link in spurs midfield imo.

13.) 08 Jul 2017 22:35:23
Ive seen that me may also steal bakayoko from chealsea any opinions I don't really believe this but what do people think.

14.) 09 Jul 2017 00:44:31
Weakest link in our midfield x files? lol that's just being silly!

15.) 09 Jul 2017 12:16:32

He is Spurs weak link and who do play him instead off in our midfield?

He is grossly overrated like most young English players.

16.) 10 Jul 2017 13:06:38
He is NOT our weakest link at all, I see him nearly every week. I take it you don't? Thought so! He makes us tick absolutely solid.

17 Aug 2016 18:07:08
Southampton have said that fonte is going nowhere! Interview with sly sports.

1.) 17 Aug 2016 18:25:51
That's usually code for 'we want more money'

2.) 17 Aug 2016 18:58:40
Yep! let's just gy manolas!

3.) 18 Aug 2016 07:25:23
I belive font would give us decent cover at the back. Also reports suggesting that we may be in for Fabhino, Never seen him play if I'm honest. just hope it does not put TBH way down the pecking order.

So looking at the CL tables, topping the group this year is much better for us with the pottential teams we could face.

1.) 11 Dec 2018 14:54:36
Yes, but we aren't going to win it so might as well have a big game to look forward to, we aren't going to finish top of the group and hopefully we rest a few to keep them fresh for the big game on Sunday. Only one game I am bothered about us performing in this week.

2.) 11 Dec 2018 15:01:45
Its not in our hand anymore EZRS, Juve need to drop points against BSC, I really hope Napoli win or it is going to be a complete rubbishshow in the R16 draw.

3.) 11 Dec 2018 16:01:43
Yeh, Sunday.

Was trying to forget about this Sunday.

4.) 11 Dec 2018 17:15:35
Personally I would rather play a "big" team than a so called smaller side.

First off, there are no bad sides in the knockout stages of the UCL. All of them are there on merit and have had to beat good sides in the group stages.

Secondly, if we lose to a so called smaller side the press fallout will be much bigger. As will the fan fallout. I know I'm more annoyed at losing to a side I personally don't feel we should be losing to.

Finally and probably most importantly, I feel the way Jose sets our team up we are better placed to win against the better teams than the lesser ones.

Jose may not be my cup of tea, yet one thing he has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt is that his style of football is exceptionally successful in cup competitions. 17 cup competition wins compared to 8 league wins. His style while lacking in entertainment and excitement does grind out results in those tough games. This season we haven't looked anywhere near as bad against the top teams compared to the poor performances against the "lesser" teams. I wouldn't be surprised if we beat or at least draw with Liverpool for example.

So I don't mind if we finish 1st or 2nd in the group, as long as we get a top side in the draw. Besides isn't the whole point of being in the UCL for the big nights against the top teams.

5.) 11 Dec 2018 19:43:43
Good post Shappy completely agree mate.

6.) 12 Dec 2018 09:29:57
Agree shappy- I am optimistic regarding the champions league. At the start of the group stages, in fact the season we were never regarded as frontrunners to lift the trophy or indeed any of the top teams thought to be even in the mix, but its a knockout comp and we proved we can play againnst great teams re juventus. Over 2 legs no team are invincible so owt can happen.

08 Dec 2018 17:54:12
Well done boys!

'Its only fullham' - don't care tbh.

1.) 08 Dec 2018 18:40:47
Yes, a good win and a good performance, let’s hope we keep a winning team.

2.) 08 Dec 2018 19:57:30
I thought Fred looked great as well when he came on.

28 Nov 2018 18:53:23
The way we play, the manager, some of the players - all been covered and some very valid and thought provoking opinions.

I personally just want to say well done boys, out of the group stage of the CL!

1.) 28 Nov 2018 22:32:23
Well said.

2.) 29 Nov 2018 02:10:37
Sometimes it is just about battling through. Through the group stage is worthy of note, well said.

26 Sep 2018 12:28:34
Terrible result, almost as bad against wolves after given it was after the watford win.

Its a shame this site is rammed again, just aftwr 2 losses.

Posters dissapeared during the couple of wins we had but they are back in force now. Shows a true 'united' spirit.

1.) 26 Sep 2018 13:22:17
It wouldn't matter if we lost actually trying to play football.

It's the fact after 3 minutes we sat back trying to play on the counter. 3 shots on target is a disgrace.

The football isn't improving. The marketing might be at a high but on field activities is declineing.

2.) 26 Sep 2018 14:11:32
Ezrs, maybe those posters could see our weaknesses and negative style even in those games we won. Maybe we didn't want to praise the team for sub-par performances in those wins. And if we wrote anything negative after destroying the likes of Watford then the others would be mad at us. Another reason can be that it's human nature to vent out frustration and anger. And when posting here and sharing our opinions, it doesn't hurt anyone.

21 Sep 2018 20:43:23
Just watched the first half of jose press conf.

Dalot not starting or even playing tomorrow but will start tuesday, his reasons are very good IMO and his whole interview (so far) is very different from the jose of last season - in a good way.

1.) 21 Sep 2018 21:12:17
Spot on EZRS. All about managing expectations and easing the young lad into the side. I love the sort of signings like Dalot where they are very unknown but they have bags of talent and have the potential to be a vidic or Evra sort of player. Early days but he looks like he could be a very good player for us.

Nice to see the manager a bit more chirpy and enthused. Even if he is not enjoying living in Manchester, I hope to see him more positive and less tetchy. Think he knows he has the fans backing at old Trafford and during away games so this will have lightened his mood. Especially after the spurs game where I believe he would have walked if he had been booed.

2.) 21 Sep 2018 21:39:43
Couldnt agree more park!

We have had points already where i think this could have outed jose and he'd be hone already or b4 xmas.

He has come. to the fa s and seen what we are capable of if we unite as a club. Some will say his "ploy' with our fans now is for his own agenda (blah blah blah) BUT those same people are always saying jose is out for himself and doesn't care about us or our future - it can't be both, can it?!

3.) 22 Sep 2018 06:28:16
I think his reaction to the Spurs loss, and the subsequent fans reaction to him might have improved his mood. He took it on the chin and aligned himself with the fans, and in the main the fans have rallied, sung his name, and made him feel wanted. Jose is an interesting character and I think this kind of thing is important to him.

He’s also seen one of his new signings have a very solid debut giving his another option, it looks like he now has a LB that meets his needs and the team spirit looks very good.

We have a few things to sort out but as has been said several times, a few wins changes everything.

4.) 22 Sep 2018 08:46:49
I should add that the other effect of the fans getting behind the manager in this way is that players who thought they might swan around until a new manager arrived can no longer do that. They will have to knuckle down and put effort in.

5.) 22 Sep 2018 09:04:49
Good posts lads. I agree things are looking more positive but I saw some worrying signs midweek that without the two defensive midfielders we got hit on the counter too often and against a better team we could have been in trouble. Pogba's goal was a moment of individual brilliance which settled us down but prior to that it was a pretty abject performance.

I expect Wolves to give us a difficult examination today. They will defend with numbers then break quickly. They are also decent in possession so it could be a frustrating afternoon if we sit off them and don't play with energy or intensity.

I'm still not convinced we've got the correct balance in midfield. Whilst I like Fred I'm not sure how he fits in. It will be interesting to see who plays today given Matic is suspended. I'd like to see Fred play a more disciplined role and sit a little deeper next to Fellaini to help dictate the play. He's a good passer and capable of playing incisive passes into the likes of Pogba, Lingard, Sanchez and Fellani. He's also a good dribbler so I'd like to see him dribble from deep on occasions and help break the defensive line. In the games I've watched so far he's played too high, we've been vulnerable to the counter and unable to sustain attacks. I'd like to see him on the ball a lot more and back up play from deeper positions.

On a more positive note I think we can safely name 9 or maybe even 10 of the starting 11 today which will hopefully bring some consistency to our performances. I fully expect us to line up as follows -

De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw, Fellaini, Fred, Pogba, Lingard, Sanchez, Lukaku.

Let's see what today brings. Sorry for the long posts I love talking football as you can probably tell! 😂.

6.) 22 Sep 2018 10:58:41
DLIB, I get your initial point that we may have been in trouble against better teams but surely that is why any manager may change his team on a game to game basis. Horses for courses, as they say. I don't think for one minute we would have played the same team and formation if we had been playing a stronger team on Wednesday.
I think some people like this ideology that we should always play the same team, the same tactics and the same attacking style every week but in reality that isn't going to happen.
Even the managerial geniuses that are Pep and Klopp have been known to change personnel from game to game.

7.) 22 Sep 2018 12:03:09
Betty - I totally agree that squad rotation is important especially with the amount of games we play but at the moment we're struggling to find any kind rhythm or consistency. Regardless of personnel we all know how City, Liverpool or even Chelsea (under Sarri) play football. (I accept there may be slight tactical alterations depending on the opposition, however their style of play remains fundamentally the same) .

I've liked the midfield trio of Pogba, Matic and Fellaini in recent games which I think has given us a nice balance. From the games I've watched this season Fred does not provide this balance at the moment. I still think he's a good player my point being I'd like to see him play slighter deeper and dictate the tempo of the game rather than making forward runs and leaving us susceptible to the counter. We have Pogba, Sanchez, Lingard and Lukaku to do the attacking. What we really need is a pivot who can feed them the ball, back up play and prevent the counter. I think Fred can fulfil this role maybe he just needs more of a defined role and slight tweak to his positioning.

Under Jose we have lacked identity, struggled for any kind of consistency in selection which in my opinion has adversely effected results and performances. What I have seen in recent games is a slight change to our style with our full backs playing higher, Lukaku making more penetrating runs, Pogba playing with more freedom, breaking forward from midfield and generally being more involved with Lingard and Sanchez closer in support of Lukaku. This in my opinion has largely been due to Fellaini and Matic providing the team with more balance which has allowed our better players to be more involved. Despite the good result in midweek I think the changes effected the performance and I didn't think we we're as effective in both defence and attack. What we really need is to build on the last few results so we can cement relationships and patterns of play, whilst rotation is important we need a sustained run of games to get us back in the hunt. Rotation can wait for a while in my opinion its not as important as fielding a consistent team on a regular basis just yet. Small steps one game at a time. It wasn't that long ago some thought a third season implosion was inevitable and Jose wouldn't see past Christmas. That still might be the case, whilst we've improved it's still far from vintage and I get the feeling we're still always one defeat from another crisis. Now is not the time for the tinker man, consistently and stability will see us through this tough period.

Mata and Herrera - 2 of UTDs forgotten game changers

Not the best against every team but ran astic against a team that their style suits.

Ander especially because he was one of our out n out vest players not so many seasons ago.

Love the guys game and approach. First season and he was in top 3 in the EPL.

Has dipped for various reasons but he is for me a traditional defender and although as FZZ has mentioned can seem out dated maybe, I think every team needs a brick wall kinda CB. More so than a John stones style CB.
