One thing which I don't seem to have noticed being mentioned is that we lack a really strong aggressive forward. Ibra lacked pace but his sheer physicality helped compensate to a large extent. It's no coincidence Costa and Lukaku have done well this season. We need to have the option of a strong forward who can hold the ball and bring others into play as well as being able to bully centre halves of the opposing teams. Our game is much more physical than in la Liga. Ronaldo bulked up considerably when he realised this.

I think your right it could well be the type of striker Jose goes for.
Don't think either rash or martial fit the mould of a typical Jose striker.

Aguero seems to do ok and he's not exactly joe Jordan.

Arsenal are often labelled with being soft centred, no fight. The last time they won the league they had plenty of physicality in their team.

When I look around our squad I see little fight, not just up front but all over the pitch.

If you think about it the players who are considered to have had a good season are guys like Valencia, Bailly, Herrera and Zlatan. Even Fellaini has had a decent season.

If you compiled a list of our most physical players I suspect it would look just like the one I just listed as players who have played well this season.

Rashford was the answer after the Chelsea game!

Feel sorry for rashford, makes so many runs that don't get spotted a lot of the time by midfielders with a lack of vision. You can see him visually getting frustrated with them not playing the ball threw flinging his arms around. Even if sometimes it dosent come off you have to be brave playing for Man Utd and not be so quick to take the simple 5 yard pass to the nearest man.

{Ed007's Note - So why doesn't Rashford go where the ball's going to go rather than where he wants it? Wayne Rooney will bring a ball down and smash it into the net 9/10 times in the box so why don't the midfielders give Rooney those passes instead of him needing to come deep looking for the ball and being visually frustrated with them not playing the ball where he wants? I feel sorry for Rooney because the midfielders don't spot his movement, maybe that's been the problem with Rooney whom I've also saw visually frustrated.
If you've got a midfield of the quality - and price - of Utd's, Herrera, Pogba, Mata etc is it them that are wrong with their passes or is it a 19 year old kid who's scored 18 or 19 goals in 70 matches running into the wrong positions?}

Aguero has too much of upper body strength Schmid. Got to give credit there. He does bring others into play by holding up the ball. Suarez also had the same brut strength. It's not just about the physique, it's also the attitude. You got to make your presence felt to the centre half. Give him a shove, a crunching tackle. Just tell him you are there. Rashford doesn't seem like he is capable of that type of play. No wonder Costa, Aguero, Suarez, Zlatan have been so successful. They are always up for a fight.

They did pass to rooney ed007, sadly the great captain managed to smash the ball into his own teammate rather than hitting it into a relative empty net.

Against city he kept making runs, sadly without pogba our quality of passes is so good that the ball never made past the defenders, i suppose rashford should be running into those defenders winning the ball off them and scoring which the magnificient wayne always does doesn't he.

{Ed007's Note - I did say 9/10 so that's the 1/10 he misses :-D What midfielders do you think Utd should buy who will spot these runs that Pogba etc are missing?}

Rooney will what 9/ 10 times? Have we gone back in time?

{Ed007's Note - No we seem to be in some alternate universe where Rashford is playing at such a high level he's making runs that some of the best midfielders in the game can't spot - and it's them at fault, it couldn't possibly be Rashford's fault.
Remember though that he's a local lad that came through the acadamy, think a cross between Superman and Neo from the Matrix, and only a fool would disagree that Rashford will make Utd the best team in the world, by the time he retires I expect Utd to have more CL trophies than Real Madrid. Then once he's retired after playing for Utd for 40 years and scoring a million goals Rashford can concentrate on world, nay intergalactic, peace.

I'm totally lost bond.

Rashford is completely naive when it comes to runs etc. That will just come with experience.

But I'm really Baffled by the rooney remark. 9/ 10 times he will do what did you say? 😂😂.

ed007 I said "without pogba since pogba was injured", pogba can put in really good through balls, others cannot, hererra as good as he is, is hit and miss, fellaini . well just leave it at that, carrick doesn't play enough. I am not saying rashford is a great player, but given time he will come good, even at current ability he is miles above rooney.

{Ed007's Note - I just don't see Rashford being any more than a bit part player at Utd in the long term, CSM.}
