Surprised not to see United too heavily linked with Lukaku. His scoring record in the prem is fantastic and he clearly wants to leave. He would be expensive, but not much more than the likes of Belotti and Morata who are both unproven in the prem.

We're clearly after a number 9 and he's young and fits the bill. I see people criticize his record against the big teams, but wasn't it the so called smaller clubs that gave us the most grief last season? Lukaku is young and could perform better at a bigger club, but whether or not Jose wants to work with him again is another issue.

That being said if it came down between Morata and Belotti I would choose Morata at this point.

I think you have just answered your own question.

He wants Chelsea that's another issue with lukaku.
Morata is not epl proven but imo he is a better all round player. A better link player and and his finishing is good.
He is used to big clu bs and a big club mentality.
He had played the last 2 cl finals scoring in of of then.
He will have plenty to prove but he will get great support from the manager same team mates and the vast majority of the supporters. Hope we can get it done.

Ill probably get roasted for this but, there's a big difference between being a great player for a mid table club and a great player for a club competing for trophies. Lukaku is a very very good player, but I believe he's still not the world-class striker we'd need to compete for honors domestically and in Europe. Add in the likely price tag and I'm more than fine letting Chelsea move for him.

Lukaku has been at a bigger club, he was on the books of the current champions for several years. And he failed to score for them.

His goalscoring record suggests he struggles when against better teams as he sees less of the ball and has less support. He scores more goals for Everton against teams of a similar standard or lower, where there will me more tit for tat and the team will be more open and more space. Now we struggled to score against the lower EPL teams last season, because they tended to sit deep and in numbers. How would Lukaku's scoring record change that? He has never proven himself to be a regular scorer against teams that sit deep and in numbers. Very few teams approach their games against Everton and their games against us in the same manner.

I think he would be a decent signing, but not a great one. He would score, but maybe not as many as people would expect.

Lukaku has the touch of Emile Heskey, but can finish. He is in nowhere good enough to play for Man Utd, and the reported fee of £100m is a disgrace. His first touch and ball control is terrible, and I'd be very disappointed if we sign him.

Morata is a proper footballer, more complete and will compliment our team game as a whole. It's no coincidence that the best team in Europe have an unselfish striker leading their line for the team (Benzema) . Belotti I have never seen play so have no idea what he can bring.

Needs the service to get the goals, isn't a player than can make something happen individually, proven in the premier league though, I'm happy with Morata, feel he be a good fit, surprised that Madrid are not going to make him their number 9 next season.
