Ole has been made permanent manager. For 3 years.

Thoughts on Mertens to United this summer. Would you take him?

1.) 10 May 2018 08:28:58
Not too sure how true it is, but I believe he has a relatively low release clause of around £20-25 million.

Without getting into release clauses etc. If he were available for a fee of this amount he may be worth a punt.

2.) 10 May 2018 15:23:49
Agree necks for that price why not. But he is 29 hitting 30 so wouldn’t be he cleverest move. Especially if we are moving for Willian. Would much prefer to try keep martial and play rashford centrally more by rotating him with Lukaku. Otherwise I would love to see us go for Justin kluivert looks very talented.

3.) 10 May 2018 15:57:41
Out of rashford and martial I'd rather martial play centrally.

4.) 10 May 2018 17:39:01
He is a good player but he is too old. We need to build like City and like Utd of old younger players please.

5.) 10 May 2018 23:41:10
Good shout Park, Kluivert does look a great talent.

6.) 10 May 2018 23:48:56
Kluivert off to roma reports in holland are saying.

7.) 11 May 2018 17:12:08
Players of youth under Mourinho. Isn't going to happen. Mourinho wants players ready to go or the finish article not the next big thing.

04 Dec 2017 12:13:59
Hi Eds. Just wondering do you expect Manchester United to attempt and get either or both Alexis Sanchez and Ozil in either the January transfer window or this summer?

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer sensibly about when transfers will happen but MU have not shown any interest in Alexis Sanchez. Oezil might be a possibility at some point.}

1.) 04 Dec 2017 16:21:38
Wish we had purchased Sanchez in the summer
Yeah would had possibly been £50m as in last year of contract, however we’d be so much stronger this year going forward.
If had the choice this coming summer when both are free, I’d still only take Sanchez. Ozil half of the time you forget he’s on the pitch
Should Zlatan not extend another year, use some of his wages to lure Sanchez.

2.) 04 Dec 2017 18:35:39
Thank Ed002 as always.

11 Mar 2017 20:41:04
Hi Eds

Is their any chance you could please update us on the situation regarding our keeper David De Gea?

Obviously the Madrid rumors won't go away and their been recent news that United are willing to offer a new contract for him, thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware that there has been any change. He is still of interest to Real Madrid but not their first choice.}

1.) 11 Mar 2017 21:15:18
I will gladly take that answer, thanks Ed002.

2.) 16 Mar 2017 15:07:46
Is their first choice now Courtois ed002? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Yes but he won't be moving there this summer.}

27 Feb 2017 12:05:34
Hi Eds

Just wondering regarding the recent paper talk regarding Neymar to United, is it something that could happen this summer, do you think Neymar would be willing to leave Barcelona if say United meet his buy out clause?

Also is Griezmann still a player that interests Mourinho and United?

{Ed002's Note - (a) No, I would not expect Neymar to be joining Manchester United in the Summer. (b) Neymar is in a complex situation at present and I would not expect him to want to leave Barcelona this summer. (c) Neymar does not have a "buy out" clause. (d) I have explained about Griezmann on plenty of occasions and Mourinho wanted Griezmann at Chelsea and continued to want him at Manchester United. He will however be aware of why Chelsea's interest eased off and will be thinking about that - and with the move to a new stadium, that will also be a consideration.}

1.) 27 Feb 2017 12:21:48
Thanks Eds002

My apologies didn't use the correct terminology, I meant a release clause, that wasn't clear on my part

Thanks for the information, much appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - The "release clause" is of no direct relevance to Manchester United Shane.}

2.) 27 Feb 2017 12:42:30
Thanks Eds002, is it possible the release clause then is regarding Real Madrid

Also wondering would you possibly be doing another United sharkpod towards the summer?

{Ed002's Note - All players in Spain have "release clauses" as it is required by their local rules. There will be further Sharkopods.}

3.) 27 Feb 2017 13:01:16
Thanks Ed, have a nice day.

{Ed002's Note - It has just started raining.}

4.) 27 Feb 2017 13:06:04
You must be in Manchester then lol.

5.) 27 Feb 2017 13:13:40
Ed002 there is really only one of you in this world. I was laughing so hard as I read your response. I'd think you are "The Special One"! 😂😂😂😂.

Don't post on here as regularly but just wanted to take the time out to thanks the Eds (inparticular 001 and 002) and you guys on here for all their information, insight and knowledge. I don't generally post on here but I try my utmost to read every comment regardless if I agree or not

I don't know about you guys but my knowledge has improved ten-fold from the Eds on how the game actually works.

Wish more fans had their eyes opened to how it really works. I remember when I posted on here when I first joined, some of my posts were let's say how a "arm-chair" fan would judge and deal with the situation

Regardless on what our opinions are at the moment, we all know the issues and problems the club got. But we need to realise that all this should come second to supporting the club. Don't get me wrong the club isn't all innocent. But knee-jerk reactions, protests etc. isn't the answer. We are going to have to use a skill that United fans haven't had to use in a long time (patience) and it could be a long time before we "win" again.

Anyway keep up the good work on here everyone. Their a great core of a community here. Wishing everyone all the best the season ahead.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks Shane.}

Question for the Eds and fellow fans

What are your thoughts on the current crop of youth players coming through?

I personally feel like this is the best group since the class of 92.

I feel like Gomes, Chong and Greenwood will be pushing for 1st team football next season

The likes of Garner, Laird, Levitt, Williams will be future players to keep a eye on.

Greenwood is personally the best prospect since Ravel Morrison. I expect him to play on the wings at first then gradually move to the centre forward position.

{Ed004's Note - I havent gotten to watch enough of them lately but Ive high hopes for Greenwood, Garner and the young rb for u18 I think his name is Laird. I fully expect Greenwood to play a part next season. I expect Sanchez and Mata to leave with Greenwood promoted and another attacker signed. Chong isnt quick enough to be an elite winger and Gomes is touch and go due to his physicality to}

1.) 10 Apr 2019 23:03:32
Good post, and hopefully Tuanzebe comes back as well. I think Chong could make it, such a nice touch and very silky. Hope Gomes gets some more opportunities next season. He does have the talent, just need a position that he can slot into.

2.) 11 Apr 2019 09:24:17
Honestly, I think they all have a good chance of making it professionally but Greenwood has the pace and finishing to make a go of it at United. You need a bit of luck, the opportunity and to take your chance. Chong would benefit from a loan spell in my mind. Gomes too. Not honestly sure on Gomes best position. Seen him okay AL, CDM and CAM at times. Technically gifted but he needs exposure to league matches now in Prem or elsewhere.

Hi all

I've have decided to stop posting on here (Manchester United Page) regarding the team for the time being. Unfortunately I can no longer back the manager. And I don't want to become the "negative guy" that's more interested in getting Mourinho sacked than the performance of team.

I will forever love this club and go watch them when times allows but I won't back the people running the club. Just going to adopt more of sideline approach this coming season and watch it all unfold.

1.) 25 Jul 2018 00:39:49
What exactly has José done recently to suddenly stop you backing him? This negativity around Jose during pre season is very odd, not looking forward to the overreactions if we don’t start the season with 10 wins on the bounce scoring 4 in each.

2.) 25 Jul 2018 01:19:55
Sorry to hear that Shane but sometimes in life you got to take the good and the bad.
I will always support and get behind the team even though I ain't happy with some of the players and the manager.
Manchester United is more than the players and manager.
It's a part of us for life. For me anyway.

3.) 25 Jul 2018 09:18:18
It's all Jose fault gds2 did u not know he us the reason for global warming.

4.) 25 Jul 2018 21:35:22
Bet you don't shane.
Cheer up mate.

Thought and Prayers for The Boss (Sir Alex) . A legend, icon and massive influence to every United fan in existence.

All the words, actions, passion from the fans etc. in the world doesn't even come close to stating in everything he did for this club. He is the greatest of all time, the man that took Manchester United from a underachieving team, revolutionised them into becoming one of the biggest clubs in the world today. Without Ferguson, Manchester United would be still a afterthought today, infact I don't think you could imagine a Manchester United without Sir Alex.

Let hope he has one big Fergie time left within him and *fingers crossed* he pulls out with a late winner.

Thoughts and Prayers to Sir Alex, Family, Friends and The Club.

30 Dec 2017 23:17:45
Now is not the time to be all doom and gloom. Yes we have having a tough time at the moment. The manager is being criticise at every opportunity by some fans and media while most players not named David De Gea are getting thrown under the bus.

We get behind our team even more when the going get tough and back the players and manager through this tough spell. The time to address the team ideology, major transfers and management is in the summer. We just have to hope and believe that we can overcome this period and pick up a trophy or two.

Don't know if the Eds will know

If Pogba is looking to move on and if Juventus are still interested, and Pogba is happy to go to Juve and Dybala happy to go to United

Could their be a gentleman agreement in which both clubs sell the players to each other?

{Ed002's Note - No, that would not happen.}

Felix is extremely talented for a kid but still raw. His comparison is Kaka

Fernandes is likened to Frank Lampard. I think he be more ready than Felix. If Pogba goes I think we will push really hard for him.

Personally I rather we go someone like Eriksen if we going to spend a large sum. I wouldn't mind James Maddison either but I don't think he be coming straight away and starting.

Think it time to buy within the league again. All teams in Europe are demanding large money for their players. I rather we went back to buying proven players in the Premier League. It also weaken the other teams doing this.

Hearing strong rumors that we are interested in signing Manolas from Roma this January. Does any of the Eds know if it's legit?

{Ed002's Note - They will have the opportunity to talk with Roma in Geneva next week - with Roma looking to move him on in the summer.}

Two names to throw out

Tim Tebow. Probably one the greatest College American Football player ever. Struggled though in the NFL, combination of he lack of acurracy as a QB and his fandom drove him out of the sport. Now in baseball playing in the minors trying to get into the MLB.

Rafael Van Der Vaart. Footballer turned Darts player now. Be interesting to see how he does.

Darren Fletcher 2.0

Hard working midfielder that is under-rated in terms of ability.

I feel that we might end up with Harry Maguire instead.
