Next year's turnover is expected to be over £600m. The wage bill is reportedly only around £230m. That's the lowest % in the EPL. There's no financial reason not to make another signature signing before tomorrow's deadline.

The idea of Sanchez is more appealing to me than Bale, but what would either do to the development of Martial and Rashford, both of whom are potentially world class game changing types of players? Can one have a surfeit of riches?

Shaw mate, we're done fro this window. You can have too many players as you can't keep them all happy so you need to balance a strong squad and a happy dressing room. That's why I don't want Sanchez, he seems disruptive to me. I'd take Bale though but hey, we've been round this loop so many times already.

I'd swap Sanchez with Lingard then if it's about squad size. Ultimately if Bale or Sanchez are available then it's a no brainer for me, anyone that moans about game time I'd simply ask them if they are better than Sanchez, none of them would be able to say yes! I'd even chuck Mata (hinders more than he helps imo) and Smalling in and really make it interesting if Arsenal want to do us a favour.

Sanchez is a winner and he would fit in like a charm in my opinion. There's only so much heavy lifting you can do before you realise that the weight isn't worth it anymore. Just look how inept Arsenal look without Sanchez.

230 mill is still one of the highest in the league.

Not fussed about griezmann.

It doesn't look like either Bale or Sanchez are going to happen and, frankly, I'm not sure I care. I'd really like to give Martial and Rashford an opportunity to prove themselves by playing regularly, which they are less likely to do if Sanchez or Bale comes. If we win the EPL great, but as long as we come in the top 3 and make a good run in the Champions League, I'll feel like we've made good progress and will be ready to make a couple more highly significant additions next year.

And while £230m is one of the highest, all I'm suggesting is that since it's the lowest %, it's also the most affordable and gives us plenty room to move if the right player becomes available. Mendy would have been a really good way to spend it IMO.
