Looks like Ravel's going then. But I have to question Alan Pardew allegedly claiming that he can handle Morrison better than Fergie. Didn't work out too well with Nile Ranger did it Alan....

So we're looking to offload Morrison and Pogba from what Ed001 says.

Could this mean somebody coming in?

If Morrison and Pogba left along with Gibson it would leave us with Carrick, Anderson, Scholes, Cleverley. I won't include Park or Giggs cos they are quite frankly poor in the centre.

Carrick and Anderson are too inconsistent. Scholes retired for a reason. Leaves us with Cleverley the only quality cm we have.

They must be working on someone surely.

Who do you guys think?

Whenever there were posts in which we used to give opinions about whom we wanted out and in, everyone (including me) used to rate Gibson at around 4-5million. Now we got only 1 million for him so I think we are wrong about other players values as well.

Mumbles until you have the slightest idea about Ravel's upbringiing keep your stupid opinions to yourself. Money and Manchester United have nothing to do with it. Why do you think Fergie cuts him such slack.RAINFISHTROMBONE

So RAINY, I didnt have the best upbringing and I had friends that where no good but I also have a brain on my shoulders and realise whats right and wrong. I know not to break the law. These aren't little misdemeanors, these are serious offenses. Just because he has talent doesnt mean he's above criticism.

I dont need to know someones upbringing to have an opinion on him and quite frankly I dont care.

Thats modern society for ya. If you're rich/talented/famous people will cut you all sorts of slack.

Now RAINY its matchday tomorrow. Get out your green and gold scarves and your 10 friends and pretend you're making a difference!

Rio has just tweeted to Ravel that the rumours people are suggesting about him are rubbish (he has stated what the rumour is but I won't as it doesn't matter and everyone probably knows anyway!) and finished with "see you at training on Monday #stayfocused"
Just thought I'd let you all know!

all this talk of morrsion, the best player in the world lionel messi doesn't act like him so why should he, like previous have said I don't think he will be as good as everyone makes out. just look at overhyped kids before.

Ben Arfa
Dos Santos
Anderson
Krkic

They all are just over hyped so they can get more money.

I think Morrison is a little over rated I've seen him play a good bit,he is above average but not the new messi or anything close.i would like to see united let him go who does he think he is and we should have done same with Rooney there all over paid and only care about money and not the poor supporter who has to work 60hrs a week to make ends meet.SAF knows this and he's right not to give in to Morrison, only for united he'd be locked up and this is how he repays the club.i really think football has lost its soul and I'm not as bothered bout it anymore, watched a game on espn few wks ago the united city game we won 3-2 Kane got the winner, now that was a proper game with 22 lads giving there all and no diving or crap just good honest football

I use to love coming on to this site to see if anything is going on at the club even though we all know that most of whats posted is absolute rubbish. I'm going to give it a rest now because I can't take any more of these Ravel Morrison stories.. Has our club fallen so far that all we can talk about is some average kid with a bad attitude? What has he ever done for United to deserve all this print?
Morrison is a low life and we don't need the likes of him at our club, let him go to Newcastle he should fit right in up there IF he makes it. If Pogba doesn't wise up to the possiblities that lie infront of him at United, then let him go too. There are millions of kids around the world who would do/give anything to be in the position that these two find themselves in.

Well the 'clear out' that we all said would happen is happening, Macheda and Gibson will be joined by Diouf and Kuscack within the next week or so. Expect Diouf to be loaned out to Wigan (probably with a view to a permanent move). Kuscack will go anywhere that he is wanted. Also i expect James and Drinkwater to go on loan or permanently to a Championship club - they simply will not make it.

Does the departure of these players mean that we will make signings? Ermmm, well who knows? Realistically at best i can see it being Rodwell, he's had a great season and been on the radar for a long time now. Surprised Gibson wasn't used in the deal but there you go - perhaps that hints that we aren't going for him.

If we don't go for Rodwell then i can't see any business happening, other than Shaqiri, get him bedded in. And if he is to be a central midfielder for us then give him the final half of the season to adapt to that position for the start of next. I don't see him as a central midfielder though, it just doesnt seem right.

Anyway, latest predictions:

Rodwell - £15 million
Shaqiri - £10 million

(The two most likely options).

Look all this Ravel and Pogba strife is all looking like it is down to money.

So if thats the case and we are genuinely treating these guys like they are to be future stars then why on earth are we not:

1. Playing them in first team games (ie on the bench almost all the time and using them as 30 min to go subs not the Giggs, Scholes, Owens etc)

2. giving them better contracts waaaaaay earlier than we have left it.

3. Wisening up to the fact that MONEY, fame and greedy agents are the backbone to any footballers carrer paths and If we want these boys to continue down our path then we must lay down the crumbs and get them to follow.

Now allot of you will say Ravel owes us or Pogba hasn't prooved first team quality yet or whatever but my arguement is this.

Wilshere, Goetze, Ericksson, Kovacic, Jovetic etc, etc. I could go on all day. Neymar, Ganso, whoever! What have all these guys got that our 2 dont? Oh yeah places in their teams matchday squads or in some of the cases are the star men in the teams. I understand they are mostly 1 or 2 years older but they are hardly new names are they? we have known of these guys for years and thats because they are getting the chances elsewhere and they are bearing the fruit of that faith in them.

SAF picks the team and has the final say but where we are going wrong is having so many piss poor options in between the first 11 and these younger guys that he must feel like he has to play Ando, Park, Giggs, Gibbo ahead of the youngsters. When it should be the exact opposite. They have had years to convince (in Ando's case) and stake their claim and all are a waste of space in the middle full stop. There are flashes of brilliance, maybe even 3-4 games of consistancy then boom, back down to reality with another few games off the boil. we should not be a team that is relying on a 37 year old and a 38 year od to run our CM. Its a total disgrace to Manchester United AND to those great gentlemen who have become legends at our club and now run the very high risk of blackening their names with way below par performances.

Those who regularly watch the youth and rezzies like Syd, RFT, Shapps, Moon, myself and whoever else have seen these guys grow and become stars of the youth then reserve team. There were games when these 2 combined and almost alone they swept teams aside. This was the cause of major bumming up of these guys especially on here and across other forums. The fact we could see them and their potential while watching the first team decline over the last 3 years in their position put further fuel to the fire that this year was to be the big cull and turnaround in personel and the introduction of the new 'class'.

We watched, we waited, we heard the excuses, we have been found wanting! We have took to long with these guys. IMO if they had been thrown in at the deep end when Clevs and Ando got injured we would now have our answers as to how they could cope, or how good they actually are, or if they are old enough to pull on the first team jersey and play with the same presence that has seen them shine through the levels.

Not only could this have seen them become stars instantly but if they failed they would have been shown they are just a step away from making it yet and the progression could be mapped out in the same vain as Clevs and Welbeck and their contracts could be representative of that. Something they would then recognise for themselves.

The way I see it they both think they should be playing. Especially ahead of Gibbo, Park, Giggs possibly even Ando and that to me shows the kind of self confidence youngsters need to make it. Of course the 'treble' offer from City will be appealing, of course the lure of the other big teams who will say what they need to for an advantage will turn heads but we are Manchester United for christ sake. We have built great teams on youth, we have made individuals great from young ages, we have nurtured many of the youth players into at least good EPL quality players and that is shown with the amount of ex youth players at other teams in the EPL and these 2 can be leading lights in our next big venture.

If money is the issue. Then there should be no issue. Wage structures are in place for the general squad players and the more important the player the better the wage, agreed? So after Rooney bartering his way to a better deal do you think the agents will just accept whats offered? Nope. No chance. There was a president set with Rooney that we will see from now on and whoever said yes to Rooney cannot now say no to others. Yes Rooney is our flagship and these guys are youngsters but they are as important to the future as Rooney is. IMO even more as Ravel is a true product of our academy and Pogba almost as much as a frenchman could be. These are the types of players the fans associate with best. The ones they will grow to love exactly like scholes, Giggs etc.

We got them to where they are and in these days with all the money and fame other teams can throw at them at a young age we should be giving these star youngsters the best deals any youth players have had out of OT and making sure we keep not only the future heartbeat of our team with us but also preserve all the history of inspiring youth to achieve great things.

Something I am certain these 2 will do. Hopefully with us!

sydney!

to be fair syd Anderson hasn't really had many opportunities to play in his natural position, he's shown he is a good player when played in the right position but it's just playing there regular.

I'm gonna call it now - Ravel Morrison will not succeed wherever he goes.

Listen, the guy is a chav wannabe gangster. He runs with a street gang - you cannot just 'leave' a gang, especially when they're his best mates. Even if he moves to say, Newcastle, he'll be back in Manchester every other weekend hanging with the same bad crowd.

SAF will not be held to ransom by a jumped-up 18yr old boy, regardless of his talent. So, we know Fergie's stubborn and I expect Morrison to leave in this window.

A crying shame, but I'd rather have lads who want to succeed and aren't just in it for the fast buck - plus, aren't liabilities in day to day life.

The biggest downer for me, is that this is a scary omen - we blamed our lack of transfer activity (Central Mid, that is) on having fantastic youth products coming through and on the verge of breaking the team.

We are close to losing that. Where do we, as a club, go from here?

At the start of this season Ferguson told us that youth players would give us the edge this season. Now halfway through we have to face the possibility of our two most promising youth players leaving the club.

We can all blame agents for filling young players' heads with the idea that they can get more money. But that's what agents get paid to do, it may be a disgusting job, but we've been more than happy when agents have encouraged their clients to join us. The problem seems to be, as seems to be a recurring issue, that United are either unwilling or incapable to match the best wages. Yet, as some have already pointed out, the Rooney saga last year showed that if United really want to keep a player they will fork out the money. Therefore, it's hardly surprising, since we set a precedent, that agents will push their clients to try to get us to up wage offers. There's no point in blaming City either because we've robbed our fair share of youth projects too by offering higher wages.

United are now at a crossroads. Up till this point the only question about our youth players was are they good enough to make the step up to the first team. Now we're faced with the question of do our best young players want to. We have to make our minds up as to whether we want to make an increased investment in youth wages or become a feeder club to those who are.

ravel morrison update, according to stuart brennan M.EN. morrsion has been offered a new contract which he has turned down, United think his demands are unrelalistic after all they have done for him and are now at the end of the road for him, he is a man united fan from Manchester and he is playing for united what more does he want, clearly too big for his boots and if he was that good he would already be in the team, as we know fergie likes to give kids a chance.

Out of the two - Who would you rather stay Pogba or Morrison?

I was thinking about this earlier.

Morrison - He is trouble and doesnt turn up to training but the talent the guy has is great.

Pogba - Had no previous trouble, just getting wrong advice from agent. Great talent in him.

Pogba would be the safer bet, plus i cant see Morrison becoming big anywhere else if his work ethic is this bad at Man Utd the best team in England.

Someone has mentioned it before further down the page but I would like to mention it again purely on the fact of what an important issue I believe it to be. Queiroz left the club and was never (I think) properly replaced.
Phelan was promoted and Ive always thought that he is out of his depth and should of been temporary. Queiroz was about as good as they get tactically and according to some a tough coach.
Phelan needs putting back to his suitable level i.e. reserves/youth.

"We've rejected an offer from Newcastle. It's all down to how that progresses"

SAF Quote regarding Morrison on s** Sports.

Shame if he goes,we would seriously need to evaluate the youth set-up. How many chances do you give someone. Got to question if he has the mentality to handle any pressure once it increases. What a k**b though if the rumour about the shirt is true, i just can't see it myself though
I'm still convinced he could end up staying now a quote from the man himself of the situation is in the public similar to Rooney. (And obviously if that rumour is'nt true). Anyone know how Petrucci is progressing? Has returned recently, hopefully some positive news?

Morrison contract talks stall

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that United have reached an impasse in contract negotiations with Ravel Morrison.

The highly-rated 18-year-old has this week been linked with a transfer to Newcastle United, among other clubs, and the boss admitted that United have rejected an offer from the Tynesiders.

"His (Ravel's) agent has been working hard to get him another club," Sir Alex told his pre-Bolton press conference.

"We've offered him terms which he has refused. His demands are unrealistic as far as we're concerned.

"We've rejected an offer from Newcastle. It's all down to how that progresses."

Morrison has made three substitute appearances for the Reds, including cameos against Aldershot and Crystal Palace in this season's Carling Cup.

From Official site.

There we have it. Morrison is seemingly gone, unless he drops unrealistic demands I gues.

Amos,
Vermijl,
Fryers,
Fornasier,

Brown,
Norwood,
Diouf,
Petrucci,

Rafael on bench, so is Josh King. I think this is a shop window line-up, I expect there are scouts from a number of clubs at the game and Brown, Norwood, King & Diouf are all available for loan and permanent moves.

Let me be of some help to the Ed's here and straighten out some of the rumours people like Jay and United till I die are trying to spread about Ravel Morrison. You are talking rubbish he has not done what you are suggesting. Yes he has missed training on more than a couple of occasions and there is a possibility he is having his head turned by the attention he is receiving from some very big clubs but the snide stuff some of you lot are saying about him is out of order as well as being untrue. If he does end up leaving Manchester United it will not be because Fergie wants him out. For the last couple of years Fergie has jumped through hoops to protect the boy and he feels that he is worth it and easily the most talented of our youth. But the one thing that Fergie can not allow is his authority to be questioned. Manchester City are being very mischevious in all this and Ravel is not the only youth player that they are atempting to distable. I for one am thankful that the editors do not give air to your spiteful untrue gossip. RAINFISHTROMBONE

Despite Scholes coming back I think that there is chance that a less than £20 million central midfield man coming in. For me, Scholes is a replacement for Gibson - although he will get marginally more game time. So if we are in for a midfielder as we all think that we are, then I think we are still in the market for a player, even this January.

Our options for the remainder of the season are:

Giggs
Cleverly
Anderson
Carrick
Scholes

That is the players we will have available, Fletcher will hopefully return in the summer. Pogba and Morrison may supplement the team if they are still there - I am convinced that both will stay, all of these rumours are just lazy jornalism. It will not happen, trust in SAF, if he thinks the boys are special he will sort it out!

So what options would we have in the remainder:

Rodwell - £15 million
Elm - £10 million
Marchisio - £20 million
Montolivo - £8 million
Cabaye/Tiote - £15 million (for one)
Sissoko - £8 million
M'Vila - £20 million

They are the best players around who are NOT cup tied in Europe, players who are not cup tied are the only ones if any that come in to the side. SAF has always said that its pointless to buy if they are cup tied.

SO, who is the most likely? Well we have been tracking Rodwell for a good few years, he has had dinner with SAF many times and the expectancy of him coming in is high. He's British also which i think SAF see's as a bit of a bonus. Keeping that in mind, Rodwell this January is our only realistic January signing.

The options if he signs looks better as that adds a central midfielder and center back to the squad in one player.
