Interesting to hear Antoine Griezmann say that he wants to move to a big club I get into the French team. If he is going to manage that it will have to be this January. We are sniffing around a few left wingers, he has just as much potential as many others we are linked with and would be happy to move. I read somewhere that he has scored in 70% if his Sociedad games.
Believable0
Unbelievable0
Fresh, do we want potential or do we want proven class? Possibly a mixture of both? If we buy top proven players then the odds are they will do well, but as other posters pointed out, we will be competing with richer clubs for their signatures. So, going for potential is easier but carries a much bigger risk. Tbh, I guess we are all just desperate for new faces to shake the place up
Agree0
Disagree0
AJH Griezmann has played In well over 100 Top flight Spanish games, hardly just promise. This year he is scoring more and creating more and creating havoc. He is 22 a great player and is better than Di Maria imho.
Agree0
Disagree0
Griezmann isn't far from 'proven', as AJH said he has played over 100 games in Spanish top flight. He is also one of the few wingers to score double figures last season which is impressive. He or Muniain are players that I would love to see here, Muniain reminds me a bit of Aguero or Tevez and has tremendous potential.

no matter what the result tomorrow let's not be like every other club and call for the managers head let's be different because we are different we are Manchester United and we do what we want! glory glory!

Most of us won't but there will be the usual drama queens predicting the end of the world.

In Moyes we trust.
Agree0

We're expected to lose. So we have nothing to lose. We just want the team to perform with courage and style.
drama queens? We've lost 6 matches already. We're 14 points behind arsenal. And we've played clueless football. I hardly call anyone criticising a" drama queen".
Shall we just go along and pretend all is great.
Agree0
Disagree0
No don't get me wrong the garden is far from rosey but from a club that has given us so much let's give as much as we can back and stand behind them. UNITED . regardless what happens . anyway I would bet my house that we will not be beaten today! come on united! we are at our best when we are backed into a corner. beware jose. beware ;-)
Agree0

Perhaps the ones who saw Sir Matt being replaced by a coach with insufficient experience or gravitas are more worried about watching a repeat of that outcome. We are all allowed an opinion and it would be a dull site if we can't express it.
Agree0
Disagree0
Nomidfield, I use the term, 'drama queen' on here quite regularly, and do you want to know why?
Because it's a flippin game of football. In the big scheme of things, it is not in the slightest bit important.

I'm sitting here laughing and for the first time in my life you lot have me chucking. All I can see is you lot talking in riddle and asif your singing songs. Haha brilliant! The thought of chelsea must have send you lads over the edge. Also if u lose tomorrow which I think you will. We will be 14 points clear of you. Cannot remember for the life of me if that has ever happened before. Keep up the good work soon to be sir David!
Believable0
Unbelievable0
And yet for all the talk, you've still won nothing for 9 years.
Agree0
Disagree0
Is it a successful year for Arsenal if you finish higher than us but don't win the league? At the end of the year both our teams will probably not win a trophy. I think City will win the league and Bayern will knock you out of the CL. But you will be content that for the first time in a long time you finished higher than us. Do you get a trophy for that?
Agree0
Disagree0
Arsenal have changed the name of their trophey room. Its now called 'the room'. Now there's somthing else for you to have a little chuckle at valley gooner.
Agree0
Disagree0
Quite simply, you have a better starting XI than us at the moment. Enjoy it while you can. Its easy to kick a team when they are down, but I wouldn't gloat too much. We will be back, and much stronger. But fair play, you are deservedly above us at the moment. Unfortunately, for all you bravado, you will end the season the same as us. trophyless. We are ALL streets behind City at the moment.
Agree0
Disagree0
Wow have arsenal fans forgot the previous 8 years start bragging when you got silverware of note in the trophy room until get in your box
Agree0

Lol I wonder were u chuckling when u got done at OT again this season. I know I was. or when van persie signed and took the number 20 shirt because he wanted to lift uniteds 20th league title while wearing it. again another moment when I chuckled .
Agree0

We all know what happens every time arsenal fans get all excited. I guess betting on a arsenal loss next week looks like a good value :)
A lot of the teams at the top are on the fringe of having some howlers and this league will get very interesting in the next few weeks.
Agree0

Arsenal have a very good team and have done it mostly through developing players much Kudos deserved. No gloating here just a cheery wave as we pass you again next year.

Any views on Suarez today or Sterling last week. I realize I am highly biased but I say both are dives and why is the media not vilifying these guys.
Anyway decent result from where we are sitting.
Believable0
Unbelievable0
{Ed004's Note - Im sorry but they were 'Spanish penalties' and both players were 'smart'. Typical media its mainly full of scousers so don't get your hopes up about them being criticised}
I was watching the game in the USA and the commentator, Lee Dixon, said it was a clear dive and he was looking to con the ref.
Agree0
Disagree0
He bites. He dives. He hates the jackson 5. Lewis suarez, lewis suarez. Johnson dives the whole time for sunderland. Sterling and suarez dive for liverpool and nothing said. If a united player dives it makes the back pages and the gaffer is hounded about it in post match interviews.where s the fairness there???
Agree0
Disagree0
What do you expect sky are so biased when it comes to Liverpool one thing for sure is if young did that tomorrow we would get slated by every corner of the media
Agree0
Disagree0
Glad u said that ed I've been saying that for years!
Agree0
Disagree0
Like you said Ed, 2 stone wall Spanish penalties! If Moyes had said that the press would have ripped him to shreds. Its not that I even begrudge the Scousers a couple of dodgy penalties, as we have had plenty ourselves over the years. But what gets on my jubblies is the constant biased opinions of the football pundits and some parts of the media. Last week on tv they were all complementary of Sterling for "clever play" and "drawing the foul from the defender". Bollox, a dive is a dive. All this about there being "contact" is rubbish, players now are going down before they even come into contact with an opposing player, but that is a topic that could go on for hours on end and is of course not just down to Liverpool players.
The only way to stop it is for retrospective action to be taken using video footage of the incident, and players found guilty of cheating facing an instant 3 match ban. As long as the panel isn't made up of ex Liverpool players of course :)
Agree0
Disagree0
You lot do make me laugh, welbeck, jumanji, valencia, ronaldo, shrek, berbatov and the king of splash ashley young! Ed04 you sound like mourinho maybe you should complain to whoever gives a toss about who works for who! When did Man U turn into Everton? Bitterness hey!
Agree0
Disagree0
{Ed004's Note - Im bitter about?? I'm just stating the obvious, websites have run full articles on Januzaj and Oscar this year lets see what's said about Suarez. Though wasn't it last year Liverpool came on here saying we always got the refs decisions and complained yet now it has 'changed' they hypocritical condemn us for pointing it out}
It looks like the media have already made up their minds on player of the year. They are trying to ensure that Suarez gets as little criticism as possible this season as some think he was unduly treated last season.
Definitely double standards, as Man Utds big name players down thru the years like Keano, Cantona, Ronaldo and now Januzaj got slated at every opportunity.

On another note, Luck Shaw had a very good game for Southampton today, I see £30m price tags being spoken about. WOW, now I know he's good but seriously that is a crazy price. I think we beginning to see the positive effects of ffp now for clubs that have planned for it! The fact southapton can still say no to that money shows they are in a decent position.

It would appear that I owe DannyP an apology. A few weeks ago I posted that we should get behind the club and the manager. At the end of my post, thee was another sentence that I decided wasn't necessary so I deleted it, but inadvertently left the word believe behind. It wasn't even intentional. Later, DannyP posted a bit of a sarcastic post about "BELIEVING", which I thought was tacking the p@*s out of my post responded which some quip about his chidish nonsense. After todays thread about "believing", I sort of get that this is an ongoing thing, and was not aimed at me. So if you're about Danny, my apologies. In future I will try to keep up. And believe :)
Believable0

Betty
I believe Danny's use of it is sarcastic and aimed at a different poster.
With the joke being that our shortcomings on the pitch will impove not by the board spending the required money to replace poor player, or Moyes modernising his tactics and strategies, but by us fans simply believing in the players.

Well looks like we are not going to get anyone signed this window. Does anyone actually beleive we will get any of the names mentioned in the summer then?
If we don't then who is to blame? Moyes, for not being appealing enough to a player to join him, Woodward for not agreeing the terms with player and club, or glazers for not releasing the money.
Personally I don't think the glazers will trust moyes with 200m transfer kitty. I think they will give him a 50 mil to spend and see what he does with that. If he fails to transform the team next year he will be gone.
I still personally think he will get 2 years or just over 2 years max in charge, because their investment won't be worth Mutch, being buisness men not football fans they won't care about ferguson Charlotte, moyes or any other person opinion.
This is my opinion so before all you moyes hungers come on and slate me, you need to remember we are not the underdog team we are supposed to be champions of the premier league. But tomorrow we are the underdog .3.1 Chelsea I'm afraid
Believable0
Unbelievable0
Charlotte, Charlotte, who the f@#* is Charlotte?

We will spend close to a 100 mill in the summer on 3 to 4 signings. The summer is a long way away and we still have 10 days in this window and might see 2 coming in.
Agree0

God United
Do you realy beleive they will risk giving moyes that kind of money?
If yes why wasn't it given last season to spend?

Because he wasn't here last season?

Draig
You have been one of the most pessimistic supporters on this site for a long time and no matter what I say, you have a view that either there is no money or the ownership does not trust DM.
I disagree and we will wait and see how the next 10 days go and how the summer goes.
I am not as doom and gloom like you and although just as frustrated by the fact of not seeing the big signing in this widow, I tend to think they are just not available for many reasons that has already been discussed.
I would rather sign 3 top players than a conveyor belt of lots of average players and maybe we will have to wait till the summer.
Finally one of us will agree with the other come end of this summer. I will agree with you completely if we fail to buy but until then we will have to wait and see.
I think you are extremely paranoid to believe owners run a club the way you envision it and somehow want to see it fail or its manager to fail.
Agree0
Disagree0
The owners.
We're the only big team who have a problem securing the players we want. it's either wages, agent fees or bidding a few million below the asking price/trying to get players on the cheap.
These are all financial issues, none of which involve David Moyes. It's not his money.

Okay, i'm going to predict a very surprising win for us as everyone including Chelsea have written us off!
I base this on Jose saying he hasn't therefore he is expecting to spank us.
0-2!
I am also going to predict Rooney doing a good 30mins in the second half and I'm wondering if we know yet just what squad has travelled and if RVP has at least travelled with the team?
Good to see him at the last match so he needs to be getting behind the team and travelling with them. Now getting on the pitch would also be welcome but we'll just take it slow! No sense getting carried away!
Slowly slowly catchy monkey!
Believable0
Unbelievable0
Both RVP & Rooney have not traveled.
I'm expecting a 3-0 loss.
Agree0
Disagree0
If they beat us, it will be by the odd goal. Terry will do his usual and pull someone out of the way, while the referee is not looking (as usual) and we'll end up conceding from a set piece.
Agree0
Disagree0
I think you have more chance of winning the lottery at the moment than predicting any Man U wins.
I hope we win tomorrow but I think we will lose 3, 1 but I think we will score first before they blow us away with two quick goals.
Hernandez will get his usual 7min to try to change the game at the end.kagawa will play ml januzi behind wellbeck carrick fletcher cm Valencia right.
So predictable Jose will be rubbing his hands together

I would happily eat humble pie if I'm wrong, but we both know it ain't going to happen. How many away games against the top 5 has moyes won in his time at Everton .
Answer none.
Agree0
Disagree0
Draig
The form book and us missing our best players says we should not expect much from tomm.
I am not sure if you realize they came to old Trafford and beat us late in the year last season that enabled them to get into the top 4.
Whilst you will make it a DM issue if we do not get a result, I don't. Take hazard, Oscar/Mata, Willian out of their line up tomm and I would bet a big chunk of money on us winning.
I tell you one thing though, if there is a team that can do it is United.
Agree0

It will be very close tomorrow, I m going for the draw. Did anyone give villa a chance today? No.
If villa can get a draw at Liverpool. Then I'm sure the champions can achieve that or more against Chelsea. Nothing is impossible.

I don't understand how people here think that a loss is certain. have we forgotten how negatively Jose approaches Big matches? The Real Madrid ties?, or the Inter Milan Ones where his team never managed a goal over 2 legs?.
This is Jose Mourinho we are talking about, I won't bet against him setting out 6 in midfield again, just like he did the last time.
P.S. Just a reminder, Chelsea finished with 5 defenders and 2 defensive mids in the reverse fixture. We will miss RVP and Wayne sure, but the negativity here is criminal
Cheer Up
Believable0
Unbelievable0
They will definitely be more attacking at home, he sees this as one they should win whilst he was happy to draw at old trafford.
I have a sneaky feeling it will be a lot closer than everybody expects and can see us drawing 1-1.
And a win would be huge for us and a real season changer. You never know
Agree0

DJ
I agree and Mourinho admitted yesterday he tried not to lose in the away game at OT.
I don't have any issues if we set up for a draw and kill the game like he does. People criticize dm when he does that but when Mourinho does it, he is a genius who breathes through his b…t hole:)
It would be interesting to see how he behaves if they get a couple of bad results.
Agree0
Disagree0
You mean play six midfielders like barca do a lot?
Agree0
Disagree0
Cgu, when Moyes does it, he still picks two wingers and we end up losing.
Mourinho and Moyes are not in the same league tactically, trophy wise, experience. So let's not build up Moyes, we are all waiting to see if he's capable of achieving anything, and right now, he's not given anyone any hope.
Having said all that, I'm hoping the players walk out and give their all, and show that we are champions. Not happened many times so far this season.
Agree0
Disagree0
@Nomidfield
Moyes has no option but to play with wingers, because that is how the squad is.
We do not have the players to play another way.
Moyes was never known for wing play at Everton, quite the opposite actually. He has tried inverted wingers with Kagawa and Januzaj.
Agree0
Disagree0
Nomid
That is completely bs and the personnel available at each club dictates how they are set up. I am not sure if you realize we have 4 midfielders, which have almost at all times not been available in the squad against 6 wingers mate.
You can be football manager all you want but the reality is when you have giggs at 40, fellaini out, Cleverly, Carrick (just back) and now fletcher(just back) try and field a team without wingers.
This is fergie's team and over the years he was known to buy winger after winger as his philosophy was always to play with 2 wingers.
Go ahead and put your team sheet up and be football manager if you want to be and show me how tactically you know better.
Agree0
Disagree0
"You mean play six midfielders like barca do a lot?"
Nomid
Typical how you can defend some guy at a rival club for whatever he does. Says a lot about what we are dealing with (:
Agree0
Disagree0
Wow, calm down CGu. Let's go ahead and play with two wingers and see what happens. We do have three midfielders so we have to play them.
Non of us are football managers, but we all know where Chelsea's strength is. So it is common sense to try to stop them. If we have two wingers hurtling up front on the wings, it will leave us exposed. Do you not agree? Or am I missing something?
Agree0
Disagree0
I am calm
So who do you play and what formation?
The issue for us without width is we can look awful and look very disjointed.
This is the problem when you build team after team for yonkers whose game is based on wingers and width.
As they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Agree0
Disagree0
Nomidfield
GCUs aim in life is to make us all believe Moyes is the only answer and Mourinho is hopeless, he is surprisingly aggressive in how he goes about it, a true keyboard warrior. Those pesky trophies Mourinho has stacked up are a bit of a problem in the argument though.
The key today is what we play in central midfield and how we bridge the midfield and attack. We can play two wide players if we have three centrally but one of those centrally needs to be able to link play but not be a second striker. The wide players need to tuck in when we haven't got the ball and Evra needs to watch his positional play. Two wide players and two upfront would be a mistake. We may also try to put Jones on Hazard as an option. We can't afford Welbeck to be his usual profligate self today, he needs to be mobile and use the extra pace he has on Terry to get past him. Depends who partners Terry but if it is Luiz he tends to get caught out of position. My concern would be conceding an early goal because we haven't displayed any fight this season, too phlegmatic. We have to fight today.
Agree0
Disagree0
Redman
Not you again, I thought we had the chi kin little thing yesterday and everyone now understands it. Where is my fly swatter.
Humor me put up your formation and team sheet. Remember nomid thinks we should line up without wingers and DM is tactically naive when he puts out a team that has width.
I am just curious to see the genius in you and send out a united team that you believe works for today.
Agree0
Disagree0
GCU
What we cannot do is play with two wide players and only two in central midfield. Personally I would put Jones, Carrick and Kagawa centrally with Januzaj and Valencia being asked to be responsible when we haven't got the ball and don't both go all out forward at the same time. Welbeck will have to be up front. My thoughts are that Chelsea's full backs are the area to look at particularly if he plays a right footer at left back which may suit Valencia. I might be tempted at the start to tell Jones to stay on Hazard. We also need to be aware of height particularly if Matic plays so Jones could be important in midfield. If he put Jones, Fletcher and Carrick centrally it would be more defensive yet we might struggle to link with attack and would rely too heavily on Januzaj who I think may get targeted.

Hold your ground! Fans of Manchester United!
My brothers,
I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me.
A day may come when the courage, determination and spirit of the team fails,
when we forsake our ties with the club and say the heck with United,
and break all bonds of fellowship,
but it is not this day.
Loss of 3 points every week and shattered hopes,
when the history of Manchester United comes crashing down,
but it is not this day!
A day may come when we lose so much hope that we don't even bother going to the games,
when we forget our tellys and say the heck with saturdays and sundays,
But it is not this day!
By all that you hold dear, for United, for the history, for the Busby Babes, for Old Trafford,
In this hour of need, when the club needs us the most,
I bid you stand, Fans of United!
This day we fight!

We have in the past performed our best when our backs are against the wall and we are notable underdogs. I want to see that fighting spirit tomorrow. You bet £100 on United to win? Mourinho has never lost at home. And we have no Rooney or rvp, Jones. Brave man but you never know, anything can happen. I hope we win just so you can win the money.
Agree with red man, we have to get the formation right. Also, we have to show courage, more than we've done so far this season. If we do that, then we have a chance.
It goes without saying, that this match is very important. But especially so as we have been completely written off by all. It will be a big confidence booster to the team, and more so to Moyes. In my opinion, he needs to win away against the big teams to make him believe.

The twilight zone in silence
It's hard for ngiak to believe but a third deal is being arranged
No word at all at this time in the papers
Is the new regime the secret service of the soccer world
Or they just keep arranging payments and players do not want to come
At least another 1 to 2 players probably out by next week?
Ngiak is very intrigued. is there a significance of waiting after the chelsea game for the announcements?
Time is running out
Time will tell
Moyes job may be on the line
More importantly, ngiak's reputation will be in disrepute
10 days to d day

With all due respect, didn't you predict similar signings in the summer that didn't materialise?.I'm starting to doubt your fishy friends!

Dear mr boca united
On the contrary dear sir
Soon after moyes took over
Apparently there were 2 almost certain buys with potentially one more
So said ngiak's friends
Do you think they were far off?
You may reference with old posts if you would prefer as ngiak has not the inclination to check
Ngiak just relays what is revealed to him

Why don't you name them instead of speaking with fork tongue!? Then we can all praise the mighty ngiak when the deals are done!

Dear mr nomidfield
As much as ngiak would like to counter your sharp tongue with his forked tongue
Ngiak must say
Firstly he has no idea the identity of the players in question
And secondly penguins tongues are not shaped as either descriptions on this conversation-banter

Basically making it up then :)
On that note wait I also heard maybe 3 new signings to be announced next week depending on agent fees. There is a possibility that none will get done due to the greedy agents, however there might also be a 4th or 5th signing given the buy one one get one for free promotion currently at some of the clubs we are talking to.

I think Ngiak may know something, but Gan is always making stuff up.

I think the fact that we acknowledge them to be "2" is frightening!

We shall fight away from home, & with growing confidence in the air. We shall defend Old Trafford, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight them from set pieces, we shall fight across the ground; the midfield, the boxes & the wings. We shall never surrender.

Ngiak wonders where were these words of inspiration and motivation when we lost the home games this season
Gone are the days when ngiak believed that
It's a new reality that the fans are getting used to
Not what the players have to prove
