There more i learn about the two players the more I think that Thiago Alcantara and Javi Martinez are the two players we should buy for CM. Both are very young, reasonably priced, and showed that they are the future of the spanish CM. Thiago a little more attacking, Martinez a little more desctructive if needed, but both have phenomenal skills, touch, technique and possession. Sign em up now -KG

Been reading around concerning Thiago and I'm really not convinced that there would be a burning desire of his to retread his steps and hope or wish for a return to Barca.

He recently stated when pushed on his future that he wants to succeed in football and he would be lying saying he wants to succeed at Barca. He wants to be remembered as a great footballer and lets be honest the one club he would be given a perfect chance to start at the top would be us.

He has tasted the Barca life and has seen how restrictive it can be when there is quality ahead of you and instead of trusting in youth they are annually pursuing replacements for big money.

I'm not guaranteeing he wouldn't go back but I certainly don't think he is in the same situation as Fabregas and Pique.

Also if the stories of the buy back clause are correct then its clear that Barca are going to do all they can in future to avoid the same situation as Fabregas. Lets hope we don't give into their demands.

What United really need is to get the dead weight off the books; Berbatov 11mil, Gibson6mil, Evans6mil, Carrick12mil, Oberton5mil, Brown5mill and Kuszczak1mill. 51 million there. I'd would keep Fletcher, O'Shea. Line up should look like:
GK De Gea/Lindegard
LB Evra/Fabio
RB Maicon/Rafeal
CB Vidic/Jones
CB Rio/Smalling
CM Modric/Pogba
CM Rooney/Ravel Morrison
CM Fletcher/Kaka
LF Young/Nani
RF Valencia/Sanchez
CF Benzema/Hernandez
We have the money, spend it. We've spent 50 and should be able to bring in another 50. Also, Gill said last year we have 120 million to spend so spend it. I also think we might have seen the last of Giggs. Kaka sells enough shirts to pay for himself. Save him for big games and we might have a good chance to compete on all four fronts and hope that Barcelona rest players for EuroCup. Also some of the kids we are lined up with are a little off but watching the games and leagues I have Eden Hazard is a good player would make it at Old Trafford and let Chelsea get Neymar, he will get killed in the Premeir League. The South American to watch is Diego Valeri that would be the next Scholes.

Sydney, do you have any insight or is it just opinion? do you really think Berba will leave, even though Fergie said recently he will stay. The Eds. think nani will be on his way but he has said he is up for the clannge next season.
I think we need 2 more on top of De Gea.

When did fergie say berbaflop will stay? I missed it

If we were to sign just one more player a top class midfielder such as sneijder or modric would people be happy with that as our last signing in the transfer market including these.

Jones
De Gea
Young
Sniejder/Modric

I personally wouldn't as only sneijder or modric would be an improvement on the squad goalkeeper not included.
If we bought sneijder or modric and then a good dribbling type i.e. sanchez, messi. neymar that type of player and an alternative to berbatov, then that would do me.

Some of United currently on tour with the Prem trophy in Asia although David Gill Remains to try to convince W.Sneider to join up with United for £32.5m plus £170,000 a week.
Also keep your eyes out for an already Premier league established D Midfielder in the shape of Michael Essien, Inter Milan keen to buy him but he would like to stay in the country. SAF going with a diamond midfield with two up top next season. You heard it here first

I was informed by a, lets say friend, (Good Source) that Fergie is on brink of leaving United..
Seems the Rooney saga where he signed new contract was bit of a farce and he only done that on agreement Utd would sell him in summer to Real but obviously bump up price for club
But Man City have come in with a stupid offer and owners want to cash in, which Fergie is totally against selling to one of his bitterest rivals
Watch this space as it could get messy, gutted if it happens.. Ed please publish this as want all to no..

If Fergie were to leave that would surely be nothing short of a disaster to the Glazers, especially if they are thinking of floating the club and that would be nothing compared to fan replies, , , also would it affect sponsors?

Anyone got thoughts?

I can't see nasri being at manchester next season. what a steal it would it would be But na but who knows.. correct me if i'm wrong tomboz doesn't being in the final year of contract put the power with the player so to speak? six months time he can speak to anyone he wants without permission of the parent club? Making what arsene wants redundant? Am i wrong? its a disgruntled player out of position who excelled without fab so will most likely be happy to stay if fab goes and take his place as sydney says. And isn't this all stemmed from what evra said anyway and the papers have just run with it. amazes me how things happen like this and suddenly the player is in everyones imaginary team without ever being there before it. Yet no argument from me. He's be a nice player for us. Constantine red {Ed002's Note - Players cannot talk to clubs in the same FA 6 months before the end of the contract.}

@Berbatov could end up staying, but I doubt it. With him being 30 and having just one year left on his contract, surely it's time to recoup up to £15m for him. I am not a Berbatov hater, so I wouldn't be unhappy if he did stay for a final year, I just cannot see it personally.

Appaerently we're bidding for Nasri, Thiago and Modric. Which one is the most likely ed? {Ed002's Note - It would be guess work but I suspect Modric still.}

i am clearly delighted that we have the slightest of chances of even signing thiago like i said before i think fergie would like a spanish player along with de gea and what position to take the player fro our empty cm role? my reasons for liking thiago are this
1. he's just great to watch play
2. speaks a bit of english
3. seems open to a move not like the bojans and co who justt want to be bench warmers
i heard the bid was about £15 million which is a fair price but with a buy back clause which I WOULD PERSONALLY NEVER AGREE TO because we don't want him to become a good player then u come and take him back on the cheap if he comes to united and ever wants to go back (like the fabregas saga) they should be ready to pay out of their as*es that said id, like the opinions of every one here, syd, gan and eds and even TOMBOZ who has been taking a lot of baterring lately way to go for sticking up for urself

Is the imminent arrival of Izziguire (Sorry about the spelling) mean the end of evra at United.

I was a huge Evra fan since he came to the club but last season his performance slipped to the verge of him not being seen as good enough anymore by many.

Pity because we could have sold him last year for a good amount 15-19 million.

We would be lucky to get 12 million now I'd say.

"daivd de gea is our last signing he will be in OT before 1 july i hope he is our last transfer we will give more chance to young reserve players .any views ED?"

@There is no way that De Gea will be our final signing, I am all for giving youth a chance, but we would need to buy a striker to replace Berbatov, I believe we need one more midfield player and it looks like Izaguirre (LB) is imminent. We certainly need a central midfielder & a striker, but I expect there will be at least six signings this summer.

I hate to break it to you but 'quality' can be used to describe a singular performance, performances over a season or performances over a career. It can be used as an adjective as well as a noun. It's not innate and can be taken away from a person just as people can learn and forget.
T0MB0Z"""
dear mr tomboz
so you start a whole argument here on the site by saying gerrard is more quality than scholes
cos you THINK (again, its purely your own personal opinion) that he had ONE great season
while scholes was our mastermind in manchester united's greatest period in history?
and later you try to backtrack by saying that overall scholes is a better player..
and now you define the quality of a player over his carreer could be judged on "one game" "one season"
hmmm....
ok...
ngiak cant argue with that
you clearly win.
gan
ps... everything said above are quoted from you
any of them make any sense dear sir?
or just arguing for the sake of doing so?

Seems all the utd fans are hiding their names again when posting maybe because a guy was posting a lot of good ones tonight showing the lot of you up lfc"""
dear mr lfc
let ngiak help you with some definitions if you dont mind...
"showing people up" would most likely mean countering another person's fact with evidence based on absolute fact
"stirring the hornet's nest" just means that he irritates people with baseless facts and opinions that can never be totally decided both ways.
or even if its painfully obvious that one's facts are totall wrong you keep harping on them no matter what people say
you guys seem very good at that mr lfc, just ask people like bob the red, blair mayne etc and what a HUGE coincidence, YOU TOO
anyway, hope ngiak helped make you look absurd... YET AGAIN.. have a nice day.

In my opinion scholes is the greatest player to ever play in the premier league He has the best touch, passing, shooting, vision and attitude of any premier league player past or present. I don't know how any of you scousers can talk about him in the same breath as Gerrard. Scholes is an absolute legend

Now River Plate have been relegated, could we see Rogelio Funes Mori & Erik Lamela being snapped up for a cheap price? Us and Chelsea have been linked to RFM in the past. Lamela is a good player from what I have heard.

Arsenal are interested in Mata. A sign that they don t think Nasri will stay? Wouldn t need him if Nasri stayed.

Maybe some truth in the NOTW story that we re prepared to offer around 20m for Nasri.

As a United fan i think Nasri would actually be the best business we could do this summer. He s one of the most talented young players out there with a unique dribbling ability and has the potential to be molded into a great central midfielder.

Could imagine that him in front of someone like Jones could be quite useful next season. Gives him a lot of freedom to play the "Giggs-role" from the end of last season. And the best part of this would be that this guy has a lot of goals in him.

--------------Hernandez----------------
Nani---------------------------Valencia
----------------------Rooney------------
-----------Nasri-------------------------
-----------------Jones-------------------
Evra-----Vidic-----Ferdinand---Rafael
----------------De Gea------------------

Such a line-up would be quite good defensively and offensively. Lets hope Nasri makes the right choice for his future. If he wants to win trophies he should come to Manchester United.
