are we in decline or going through a transition

im not sure, we have def took a backwards step we were one off the best 2 teams in europe i'm not sure thats the case now.
ive supported united for a lot of years now and seen some good teams and some bad i think i actually enjoyed the 80s you appreciated the wins more an fa cup was like the world cup.
the best thing about fergy is that he has been able to produce team after team but i think this is his biggest challenge of the last 15 years , there are question marks about the new owners and fergy cant go on for ever the next 3/4 years could be massive for MUFC

would like us to sign a player who could link midfield and attack some one with good ball retention who can also make that special pass someone who has done all these things at the highest level
i know its boring but we should go for sneijder again
if fergy really was prepared to spend 35 mill in the summer i think that tells you what he thinks even if we have to wait till next summer

"'Bones'

That has nothing to do with the Glazers mate, you are making a plonker of yourself."

Typical Sydney response! just insult anyone who has a different opinion to himself. Cheers Syd.

Its funny how when the papers link us to players that all of a sudden people start claiming they want us to sign them when they have never been mentioned before. Van wolkswinkel, Alba etc people posting how we should buy them becuase the papars say were are interested and all of a sudden these players must be signed.

I think we need to sign players in Jan, lucky enough for us Chelsea aren't playing well and Arsenal had a bad start to season. However Arsenal, Spurs and even Liverpool have very good form at the moment so we need to be aware.

Crystal Palace proved that we have no strength in depth. Carrick and Fletcher are good squad players but not 1st team players.

Can we really afford to carry on with this team until the summer? Giggs is too old now and has hardly played due to injury. Berbatov needs to eb sold in Jan he brings nothing to the team. Park is a squad player. Ferdinand injury prone. Also i think that even the twins may even find themselves as wingers as they appear to be better suited as wingers than defenders even though they defend well, but they do lack height. I rate both of the twins even though they are abit injury prone..... but look at Gerrard he was injury prone when he 1st broke through due to growing pains etc and it took him a couple of years to sort out.

Looking at the team, Nani, Rooney and Young are dropping back and playing more defensively and trying to build momentum up as we don't have the midfield capable of doing that. I can't see us signing snjeider, not for the money Inter want.

I do believe that we will be quite active in Jan, especially if cleverly is stil out injured. Few more injuries and we could be up s**t creek without a paddle.

I noticed that whenever someone posts about Pogba going to some other club, everyone else is onto him like a bunch of angrybirds. It is a remote possibility that he might leave. I guess all the replies are just a reaction to the fear and frustration of losing a great talent which has happened in the past also.

harry redface has asked the F.A to wait until the end of the season before appointing fabio capellos successor, so basically if spurs finish top 4 he will stay with spurs, if they don't he will go and take the england job, let's hope spurs finish 5th then maybe redface will consider selling modric?

In an ideal world I'd like us to get Alba, Martinez and if Real get Neymar then Higuain or Benzema will surely be on the way out of the Bernabeu.

Its nice to see Poland and Ukraine doing their bit to cut Euro costs. Brilliant idea to combine the Euro 2012 draw with this years Eurovision...

If England get a hard group which they don't progress from, I can't help but feel Rooney will be in Team GB squad for the Olympics.

Just seen a video of Fergie being asked a fairly reasonable question by a reporter. He asked why he thought the two top teams in the league were struggling in Europe. Fergie stood up and walked out of the interview, saying 'we're not struggling'.

This is not the first time he has been a little rude to a reporter and shows once again that Fergie is really struggling with the reality that United are actually struggling in both Europe and also with the 'noisy neighbours' who look like they are going to win the league this year.

I cant think of any other manager who completely refuses to accept that United are not the team they were only a few years ago. After the recent City battering he even commented 'as far as Im concerned it didnt happen, lets move on'.....oh dear!

Im an LFC supporter but I feel for the real united supporters who must be feeling a little frustrated at Fergies blind insistence that nothing is wrong. This is not a good omen for United, arrogance and burying your head in the sand doesn't win medals.

He should remain a calculating professional like your noisy neighbours and Kenny Dalglish for example. Like them or not, at least they accept when there is an obvious problem with the team and try to find a solution quickly. It seems to be working for them too !

Tel 1949 {Ed007's Note - Is that the same Dalglish that recently asked a reporter if he had wax in his ears?}

bad news about stevie bruce lads , where can fergie offload gibson and evans etc now , oh well i am sure someone will take them off your hands , but you might have to pay them to do it , so with all this transfer talk by you guys saying 3 or 4 players in jan , do you think fergie will , i will tell you he wont , it costs more to buy in jan and to be honset expect fergie to say hes happy with his squad , unlike you lot , so tell me am i right or am i right............lfc

HERBIE earlier posted an article from the daily mail, the contents of which doesn't matter but he was received with a few comments about the reliability of the source, and another stating that they thought the Guardian was the most reliable paper. Just out of interest - which paper do you find the most reliable (in your experience) -

For me it is the independent.

This was a very interesting post I thought, unnamed poster thinks we need players in these positions:

De Gea
X Smalling Vidic X
Jones X
Nani X Young
Rooney

My choices would be

De Gea
J. Pereria Smalling Vidic Bale
Jones Vidal
Nani Cleverly Young
Rooney

What do you lot think..

Sydney, u actually think lucas is no better than carrick or fletcher?
lucas has completed the most successful tackles in europe, in case u dont noe. Even our reserve players r better than those crappy midfielders u have[carrick n fletcher].
Indian Buzzer

well fletcher and carrick are crappy?....
well a year ago a friend of mine also a liverpool fan wanted to slap him as he was dead piece of sh1t(exact words used
) and now he is a club legend......true standards of lfc i guess.
just be thankfull its lukas and not Suarez or else we would be talking of no european cups for a second year in succession

btw talking of midfielders...reminds me of C*****e A**m (sorry just checking if its still beeped on here :P)

Is it really only a few people that see this? potential by its very nature isn't instant success preseason and up till clev was injured it clicked though! Improved without doubt. Formula is there. 1 creative force, rotate cleverly will click again THEN add to that pogba and morrison and tunnecliff (who are top top potential despite one game which it just didn't click. Barce lose games of this type) and it WILL hold for a long long time. previously doubted fletch park carrick even giggs will get a spark from it and its all good. We are that close to it happening. I mean really..you can't see that?ho hum ..constantine..

Just read that Giggs is going to be offered a 1-year contract extension. Anyone hear anything about this?
If this is true, everything that RFT has been saying about the Glazers is absolutely correct.

J Bones. {Ed002's Note - If he is offered a deal it will not be down to the owners.}

Most football teams are temperamental. That's 90% temper and 10% mental.
