Today we are mourning the passing of young men and few old ones too, but I would like to just mention my boy turns 1 on the 28th and without the thoughts and well wishes from u fabulous bunch across the boards I don't know if we would of had the strength to make it through those awful 6-7 weeks.

Thanks guys.

Van Gaal on McNair: "Maybe he can be right-back for Man United for the next 10 years. You never know."
Van Gaal on Rooney's position: "He is a multi-functional player + I like that. In striking spots, we have Falcao/Wilson/RVP + also Fellaini"
Looks like he prefers fellaini more than rooney as a striker.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Or he likes rooney in midfield more than fellaini.

Hi Guys!

Could you fill out this survey for me about American Football and the NFL?

You haven't got to be a fan of the sport or anything like that to answer, I just need as many people as possible from various sports, backgrounds, etc.

The link to the survey is below and it'll take no more than a minute or two!

goo.gl/YnZuPb

I really appreciate you helping me out with all of this! :).

Hi eds,

This is a little cheeky but I'm doing a project about American Football and the NFL (I'm looking for people who are and are not fans of the sport) and I need some people to fill out a 2 minute google survey to help me with my research.

Would I be able to post the link on here?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Sure, and there is also an NFL page you can post it to. Try the Liverpool page as that is the busiest. Perhaps leave a note for Ed018 on the Chelsea page - he comes from a part of America where people like NFL (and eat roadkill); whereas I am from the nice parts.}

I just a very bad muscle tear in foot playing football and have had a sleepness night with a lot of pain.
Kudos to all the players who get massive injuries and recover back to play again. Sometimes they even move on stretchers for months.
I can't imagine the pains they go through.

I am sorry to spoil the sanctity of the moment for you but they get paid friggin millions to get fit and come back. They have an army of people to take care of them.

I would much rather appreciate a coal miner who broke his foot but came back to work because he has to take care of his family.

I have had so many I have lost count and it is not that bad mate. I have torn both calfs in the last 8 months and both grade 3 tear with one case the soleus Muscle being detached from the achilles heel. Still went to work the next day and dragged my leg around:)

Try a ruptured disk and then we can debate it. Worst injury of all of them.

R.I.P boys, as long as there is a Manchester United, you will never be forgotten!

Although I was born over 2 decades after the tragedy, this day and everything about it hurts no less than if I had been there on that day. I love the old footage but watching it is very painful. THE greatest team that we, and arguably any club, have ever had was destroyed that day. I'm 100% certain that Real Madrid would still be at least 2 or 3 European Cups short of La Decima if it hadn't been for that horrific day. We would have been the club with the most European wins today, that is how good they were and would have been. It's just so painfully sad.

Liverpool fan here in peace.

I want to say I never forget, no matter what team or rivalry; it was a disastrous loss for football, Manchester United and the fans.

Rest in peace and all the best to all affected by this loss.

Great news and potentially an important signing.

McNair has just signed a new deal which I am delighted about. We all would of said that he was miles from the first team 6 months ago, but it is amazing to see what first team exposure can do.

Sign Pereira .

Ben Pearson who i have never seen play seems to be also getting rave reviews. I wonder if he is good enough to make the first team.

Listening to LVG looks like rafael's days are also numbered and might see him moved on this summer.

Getting so bored with all the tactics and formation talk on this site. Is everyone a backseat manager now. Not trying to say anyone doesn't have a right to an opinion but c'mon lads it's getting so tiresome.

Ermm don't come on here then?

Agree5 Disagree1

What would you talk about then? In football there are three or four things to talk about:

1) Transfers
2) Tactics
3) Performances
4) The manager

What would you suggest?

Really sitting a 28 million pound purchase that is our best midfielder is boring??!!!!

You can always talk about which player has the best missus :P

Throwing a different view point out there about Herrera.

What I am putting forward for discussion is that Herrera is exactly the type of player that LVG needs and will be a key player for us. BUT, this will only happen AFTER his legal case has finished.

Could it be that LVG see's Herrera as being somewhat distracted at the moment? For example, he is due in Court just 11 hours after the Newcastle game (not sure of the exact time). If I was due in Court I don't think I could properly concentrate, guilty or not guilty.

LVG demands 100% focus from his players and 100% effort. Whilst Herrera will be putting the effort in, could his focus have been somewhat averted by events outside of the football pitch?

Believable5 Unbelievable5

On the face of it this makes sense. However the fact that whenever he does play even if for a few minutes he looks top class, twice the player Rooney is in midfield for example.

He had one bad game after breaking his rib, that is it.

So I don't believe this is the reason, but if it is then it's stupid. Most people when going through troubling times need to focus on something, typically working hard helps so he should be played irrespective. He should only be dropped if his form suffers, which it hasn't.

Agree4 Disagree1

From what I've read he hasn't been charged with any thing he is just going to give evidence.

I think, as said below that the strangest thing about it all is that Herrera appears to fit into the way that LVG likes to play and whenever he has played he adds something that nobody else in our midfield does. As Shappy said below if they had fallen out he would have been frozen out all together and not on the bench, and the court case thing just seems strange as well. Maybe it is just tactical and LVG thinks he doesn't quite fit in, or that he would have to leave out an important player.

I think it was Danny who said below that as LVG hasn't come out and said anything that suggests they have fallen out, but I see that the other way round, LVG isn't scared to tell the press when he has fallen out with people or he feels somebody isn't pulling their weight so no news suggests it is something else, maybe something more trivial, but maybe we will never know.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think LVG always finds someone who annoys him. Sorry if that sounds harsh but he seems to have done it everywhere else he has been.

Agree3 Disagree0

Undoubtedly a massive problem for Herrera is Rooney or Van Persie which ever angle you look at it from.

At the start of the season LVG basically said RVP, Rooney and Falcao all need to play. And in a diamond, he wants to play RVP and Falcao up top and fit Rooney in, and Di Maria and find some 'balance'.

I've been saying it for 18-24 months now, i really really hope we sign Memphis Depay. Oh and if the club would be so kind to also purchase Domenico Berardi whilst they are at it, it would be very much appreciated.

I forgot to add - the first game at home after the crash. I was in bed and was awoken by an enormous roar. Our little house literally shook. We had just scored the only goal against Sheff Wed. I have never heard a sound like it ever since.
